It had been 10 minutes since the party finished.

Connie left and everyone else was packing up, Peridot and Steven went to change in the human hybrid's 'bathroom'. Steven looked away so he couldn't look at Peridot.

"Sooooo did you have fun?" Steven said as he waited for Peridot

"Yup, yup" She said as she she reshifted her legging-like socks. She finally learned to shapeshift despite before. She just needed to be a little more positive in her thoughts

"whaaat did you think of Connie?"

"she's..." she didn't know what to say, Connie was... odd to her "she's nice"

Steven sighed "she didn't like you, did she?"

"im sorry Steven" her face softened "I know you want me to be friends with everyone" she faced him sadly "but I'm not like you"

Steven knew this of course, noone understood being different like him. But sometimes he would like to imagine a life where he could live in peace with everyone...

Where Lars would admit his feeling to Sadie
Where homeworld cared
Where he could see his mom
Where he could tell Peridot that she's-

"Steven?" Peridot interrupted his thoughts. steven stiffened and blushed on accident
"uh yeah?" he muttered back

"we should go now" Steven nodded back

they walked to the door of the temple, the were about to walk out the door when the earth shook

"THE CLUSTERRRRR" Peridot started screeching

Steven looked out the wire frame door, the sky was a hue of green... and something he wished to never see again, a giant hand

"P-peri... I think you should see this" she walked over to steven and shrieked, she raced over to outside.
