Flash back

"so what will you have tonight?" Steven clutched his menu and looked at its contents "um, the usual please Kiki" she nodded and walked off, she later came with two glasses of seasoned juice and placed them down at the boy's and fusion's side

They sat there in silence, none of them knew how to start. Eventually Garnet spoke up

"so" steven avoided the emotionless glasses of his teammate, for an emotionless look- her gaze was quite threatening and scary

"Do you have something- you want to talk about?" she softened her voice

"do we really have to do this?"

"its alright if you don't want to talk about it, but you really look stressed"

He sat there and thought- undecided of what to do. Then he felt to arms pick him up and rest him on their legs. Garnet wrapped her arms around Steven and said

"go ahead, tell me"

"well, Peridot"

"mhm?"

"And Connie..."

"you feel conflicted about them"

"yeah, I can tell Connie doesn't like me being around Peridot- and she doesn't like Peridot at all"

"go on"

"and, well... I know Connie loves me and all but..."

"you love Peridot." She said flatly

"is it that obvious?"

"you left us without telling just to have her again, your just as brave as Ruby was"

"haha, what do you mean?" he questioned after that last line.

"she went up against fate for Sapphire, don't you remember?"

"oh yeah!" he said

"so, what do I do?" he said a little bit after

"heal her"

"h-how do you know?"

"the temple heart is my room, Steven"

"oh yeah, but what about Connie?"

"Connie is a smart and kind girl, I'm sure she'll understand"

"if you say so"

"Steven?" a female voice said

"oh, hey Kiki!" he said happily as the pizza was placed down. He looked at the melted cheese and pepperoni and smiled

He hadn't eaten a good meal in 2 weeks

He ate happily with Garnet, he finally understood everything he must do

He needs to tell her

"well, I need to attend to some business, I'll see you later"

"hey Steven" steven jumped in surprise at a voice he didn't recognize yet seemed so familiar. he had spiky yet smooth hair, wearing a blue jacket slumped over. he walked over and sat at the other side of him and spoke

"its alright if ya don't remember me, we only met once after all" he said and raised a hand "I'm Yellow Topaz, pleasure to meet you again" he giggled and said "hows it goin'?"

"Yellow Topaz? Oh- oh yeah! I remember you! I saw you at the food festival didn't I?" he chirped, normally he would tell the gems of the existence of another gem on earth but he made an exception for him. he wanted to keep his identity a secret because he knew what homeworld would do.

"w-wait Steven, is that a bruise on your arm?" he asked as he took a slice of pizza from the table.

"um ye-"

"I'll kill the person who did that to you" his eyes grew dark and threatening

"no no! im fine really!" Steven chuckled, when he met him- Topaz always cared about whoever he got close to. They talked about their adventures on how Topaz tried to live the life of a human being part gem. Steven thought what he said about being 'part' gem was weird, he told him she was full gem and all- but he didn't mind. 30 minutes after, Topaz's phone rang and he answered

"heya, yeah I'll be there" he put down the phone

"I have to go now Steven, I hope I see you soon!" he hugged Steven and he whispered

"come again soon okay?"

"I will" he whispered back. he put the gem boy down and walked to the entrance and stood there, later Steven joined him. After a short while a Peridot emerged, limb enchencers and all. But it wasn't his Peridot, her gem was on her belly and she talked in a softer voice

"hello there, you must be Steven?"

"um,yeah?"

"its nice to meet you, you're friends with this human- correct?"

"human? But I thought-" Topaz clasped a hand over Steven's mouth

"urm yeth, ahm fuhnds wit hem" his muffled voice said

"haha, well I need to go now- goodbye Steven" she patted his head and took off

Steven smiled, knowing that he had a great friend he didn't remember he had.

AN: sorry its so short, its just that im writing a Pearlmethyst fanfic and Garnet doesn't talk a lot so yeh
