Part 11

Connie's POV

just seconds before Steven was talking with Garnet at Fish Stew Pizza, now he's dragging me to his room. How did we even go to here? we're already lost in the clouds so I decide to ask him

"Steven where are we going?"

"We're getting her back"

"What are you talking abou-"

"room, I want to see the basement- I mean want to go the real basement" suddenly the clouds made way to a transparent tube glowing a deep red 

"something safer please"

it the covered the tube and the floor suddenly began changing, some parts of the floor would drop lower- causing a sort of staircase and we walked down to what seemed like an endless dark staircase.

"Steven" i pulled my hand back "where are we going? and who is her ?"

i was lying

i knew exactly who her was

it just hurts to remember her.

"I can tell you know who she is" i sighed in defeat, he knew me too well

"you noticed?" he nodded

"Steven, I know you really care for her- but maybe she needs time" i tried to put a hand on his shoulder.

"n-no... she needed me"

"what?" i asked- what did he mean?

...

so thats what happened

Steven mysteriously dissapeared to look for Peridot. He found her- but was captured

and he was brought home, by Peridot

"and... in the island, I saw her"

"..."

"she looked so hurt, and her gem was crying- and she...she said" oh no, h-hes crying

"Steven-"

"she said my name! a-and-"

"she said, please help me" he whispered that last part. he cried into my shoulder for a long time. while he was crying I stood there.

so he really does care for her

where does that leave me? I never really liked Peridot because of what she said, and what she did to Steven before she became a crystal gem

Flash back~

"nice to know everything and all but I have one question"

"hm?" she looked at me, she must've been happy to get someone to talk with- I know I was

"why did you become a crystal gem in the first place?"

she looked perplexed and deep in thought for 5 seconds and said

"it's because of Steven" 

wait... she used to be homeworld gem, then she could...

I ran away, I needed to get to Steven

I don't want him to be hurt by that betrayer

after what seemed like forever, he stopped.

"thanks, we're here now" he walked to a pink bubble encasing a green gem shaped like a rounded triangle. he didn't open it but walked back to the warp and warped us to somewhere bueatiful. it had thorns covered in roses with a dusted blue tile floor and pink pastel skies everywhere. they had large statues that looks like they were destroyed and some of the remaining parts were gathering a special moss and forming heart shaped petals to make roses.

it looked like heaven on earth

but he dragged me on excitedly

we got to a large, marble fountain with waters a light and clear pink. around it were statues of what looked to be Steven's mom? im not sure- she looks like that in the painting. they had their eyes closed and were sitting on an edge of the fountain, holding roses. and one giant statue in the middle- her tears streaming down her face and into the pool of pink water

Steven gently popped the bubble and placed her gem in the water

Peridot's POV

i felt like i could be functional again. the screen in front of me had somehow been repaired and I was now in some sort of liquid. hmmm, by a hypothesis- i conclude this liquid had healed my gem. so I conclude this is some sort of healing liquid. I sit there for a moment

and I feel my body emerging

    Iconcentrate on my structure and my body shifts in to place, I can feel thewater around me and the hard concrete im laying on.    . I reached the surface and saw two faces looking at me

"Peridot!" Steven launched me into a hug and I smiled "Steven!" I hugged back

he started crying right there, right in the middle of the water

"its okay, im here now!" I tried to cheer him up and he hugged me tighter

"I missed you!" he started spinning me around I started laughing at how bad the situation was

he laughed too

All I saw was his face, and everything went white and...

"W-wha-"

"Steven?"

"Peridot?"
