14 : My man

Rob's POV
Someone appeared in front of me. It's shape slowly formed.

"Pete?"

"Au, Rob! My man! How ya doin boy?" He asked and gave me a bro hug. I hugged back awkwardly. Isn't Pete dead?

"I thought you were dead?" I asked. Pete smiled sadly.

"Yeah. Was sleeping when a fire broke out. Heavy sleeper, you know? Didn't wake up. Kara tried and failed. She was stuck with me," Pete looked at the ground.

"Where is she?"

"I heard my name," Kara appeared from nowhere. Pete smiled softly as he put an arm around her waist.

"I'm so sorry, Kara."

"It's ok, Peteyboo honey," she kissed him on the cheek. She saw me, and a look of horror flashed across her face.

"Wait, Rob. You're dead?!"

"No, I am unconscious," I sighed. Kara's eyes filled with sympathy.

"You grave something to say to him, right?" She looked at Pete.

"Maybe."

"I'll leave you guys with some personal space. Don't have too much fun, you know I don't ship Peteless," she laughed while Pete gave her a playful glare.

"Karaline!"

"Oh, Brandon. You know you love me," she disappeared into the clouds. Pete smiled.

"Well, that's Kara for you."

"You got yourself a good one," I laughed. They are so cute together.

"Heh, yeah. Until she starts to pester me to buy her something," Pete smirked.

"I can hear you!"  Kara said.

"She mentioned something about you telling me something," I changed the subject. Pete turned serious.

"Oh, yes." He fished out a card from his pocket and started to read it.

"You must save the one that you cherish most before time runs out."

"What does that mean?" I asked. The card turned into glitter and was carried away by the sudden breeze.

"You'll have to figure it out yourself. It's not hard, I mean. But what I will tell you is that you might have to hurry. Time is ticking.

"We will put you back to the human world again, and you can touch everything. However, people would not see you. I think that's enough information," he said.

"Who's the one that I love?"

"It's quite easy to figure it out, bro."

Pete's answer isn't helping me.

"You ready to go back?" Kara appeared next to Pete. I nodded. She smiled and waved her hands. A door appeared.

"Rob?"

"Yeah, Pete?"

"We don't want to see you here again," he warned jokingly, but his eyes were serious. I smiled and nodded.

"I have one question before I leave."

Pete gestured for me to continue.

"What is this place?" I waved my hand and looked around.

Pete was smirking, and Kara was giving Pete questioning looks.

"It can be anything you want it to be. But for us, it's our Karadise," he kissed Kara on the forehead as Kara blushed.

"Reference much?" She laughed.

I opened the door. Waving goodbye, I jumped into the black hole, hearing their goodbyes becoming more distant until I can no longer hear them.
