(Winter) Chapter 40

"B-Betting?"

A dark aura surrounds Asuto, placing a hand under his mouth and he starts to laugh in a dark manner. He looks at Gil, who was behind him, and began saying, "Kukukuku~ He will let me be in-charge of the club for a whole month if I win."

'Are they dead serious?!' Koujiro couldn't believe it himself. He suddenly imagines the Kendo club being under the reign of Asuto Juniyushi and it was weird, dark, and meh.

Gil pulls his training kimono and releases some air. He was feeling a little hot ever since this morning and his condition hasn't changed since then.

"Senpai?" Hinako walks up to him, a little worried. "Are you all right?"

After looking into Hinako's worried eyes, Gil felt hotter than before. He doesn't know if it's because his heart started to beat faster for her or that his condition is worsening.

"Y-Yeah, I'm fine," he says, looking away. "It feels a little hot in here."

"Huh? But it's still January, senpai. If you ask me, it's quite chilly."

"I-Is that so? Well, maybe it's just me."

Hinako looks at Gil even though he doesn't look back at her. But she immediately realizes that he was still embarrassed. Yes, she's embarrassed, too, even though they started over again ever since that night back at Karakura city but with all of her best, she wants to talk to Gil and be with with him like they used to.

"Senpai," Hinako held Gil's left hand to which he suddenly looks at. "do your best and win against Asuto-senpai!"

Gil looks at Hinako's hand, then at her with the same blush etched on his cheeks. But, he was able to find his composure after seeing her smile. "Yes, I'll do my best. Thank you, Hinako."

Asuto and Koujiro focuses their gazes on Hinako and Gil, seeing sparkles and flowers around them. It intrigued them a lot and it was a rare sight for them to see the two talking so casually than smashing each other's heads with a shinai and constantly bickering during meetings.

'Hey, Koujiro?'

'What is it, Asuto-san?'

'Is it me or did we jump to another universe?'

'What are you talking about? You're weird.'

'Not as weird as Gil and Hinako-chan acting strange right now.'

'You're strange and you know that!'

Asuto and Gil took their positions at the middle of the room.

"Are you ready for this, Asuto?" Gil asks, tightening out his gloves while looking at Asuto seriously.

"What about you, Gil-kun? Are you ready for this?" He asks back, fixing out his head armor.

"You know I'm ready. That 306th win is mine for all I know," Gil wears his head armor.

"Nope, it's mine," he holds his shinai with both of his hands.

"Really?"
