May 24, 2016 - After School

Gil and Hinako exchanged stares for a moment before the former stood up and made his way to the door of the storage closet. He held onto the doorknob and twisted it, trying to open the door.

"Damn it! It is broken," Gil curses under his breath. Then, he tries to push the door with his body.

Hinako turns around and looks at her senior from behind. "Don't do that, Douji-senpai. You might break the door."

"I don't care. It's the school's fault for having a faulty doorknob in the kendo room," Gil said while continuing to push the door with all of his strength. It just wouldn't budge.

"But you might hurt yourself, too," Hinako said as she looks at the floor.

Gil stopped pushing on the door so roughly and stood straight looking at the door. "Why do you care if I get hurt or not? If I can recall, you said you hate me."

"Oh, I..." Hinako lowers her head. "I guess you're right. Why do I care, huh?" She goes to the corner and sits down on the floor, clutching onto herself tight. "I'm just saying what I feel, senpai. I'll stay here and keep silent."

Gil looked a little to his back. He saw Hinako all curled up with a plain expression on her face. He, then, returns his look at the door and starts to push it with all of his might again. Ten minutes later, Gil gave up, punching his fist onto the door.

"Damn it! It just won't budge! This door is too strong for its own good," Gil was irritated. "Ah, damn. I guess we'll just have to wait for the janitor to do his rounds," he scratches the back of his head.

Gil turns around and saw Hinako still curled up. He looks to his side and remembered what happened between the two of them. It was an awkward atmosphere. To himself, he wanted to apologize but his pride won't let him. He still feels that he shouldn't apologize because it should always be the other way around.

But not this time. For the first time in his life, Gil felt somewhat guilty. There is a reason why he has this kind of attitude, though he's not the type to open up about it. He always keeps things to himself because he doubts that anyone can understand him. But knowing that he and Hinako are in the same situation, he was contemplating on whether he should talk to her or not about it.

Gil walks to the box where the shinais were kept and sat on the floor with his back on the wooden surface of the box, facing Hinako completely. He tilts his head upwards and looks at the ceiling, which was almost out of sight due to the fact that the sun was setting already.

Gil releases a long sigh, "I know that it is not my place to say this but you owe me a proper explanation of what happened last week."

Hinako tightly holds onto herself until she can't further do it anymore. "What do you want me to say? It's not like I left anything out that night."

"I believe that you, splashing me with water and slapping me in the process, owe me more than just that," he lowers his head and looks at the brown-headed woman in front of him.

"What more do you want me to add? I am not even obligated to tell you everything," Hinako said as she hides her face from Gil.

"Yes, you are!" The golden-headed man shouts, banging the wooden box with his right fist. "I don't think that I deserve to be treated that way at all! A normal person would have settled their problems properly, not in the way that you did to me!"
