I dial in Liam's number. I smile at the boys that were crowding around me for ,oral support. He picks up after a couple of rings
'Hey Charlotte what's up?' He says and I swallow nervously
'Liam today at my interview my parents showed up and told me I was adopted. They gave me a huge stack of information on who my family is...' I say trailing off
'Thats great Charlotte! But why are you telling me now? And why do you sound nervous?' he asks and I take a deep breath
'Because the information said that I'm your sister' I hear him gasp and he yells
'MUM!! GET IN HERE NOW!!!' My breaths shorten and my heart race quickens.
'Whats wrong Li?' She says and I know it's on speaker
'Did you ever put a child up for adoption?' He asks and she gasps and then sighs
'Yes Liam I did. She was your twin sister. We barely had enough for you! She was a complete surprise and we didn't think we could handle two kids. So we gave her up. We wanted to five her her best chance" she says and I could tell that this upset her.
'Mum, what was her name?' He asks
'Charlotte, Charlotte Payne' we both inhale quickly and I speak into the phone
'Hi Mum' I hear her gasp, 'Li can you be on Skype in 2 minutes so we can talk?' I ask
'Sure' and without another word we hang up. I shoo the boys from the room except Mika with the claim that this was a matter for family only. I hear the incoming call noise from my laptop and Mika runs over smiling
'Lou?' he says and I shake my head
'Nope Li-Li!' I say and he smiles
'Mummy up?' He asks and as I go to pick him up. I freeze
'Mummy?!' I hear my Mum question and I smile weakly lifting Mika up to my lap
'Yea. This is Mika. My son' I say and she smiles weakly too.
'LI-LI!!' Mika shouts as he see's Liam appear on the screen, both Liam and I laugh
'Hey little man!!' He says and then looks at me 'Mum I would like to introduce you too Charlotte Mae the singing sensation!!' He says pointing at me I smile and laugh 'What is your last name?' Liam asks 'Since your middle name is Mae'
'Payne! Duh! But it was Alear' I say and he nods and turns and looks pointedly at Mika. 'Hey Mika can you go and play with Harry and Zayn?' He nods and walks out
'So your my Mum. Can you please explain why you gave me up and made no attempt to find me?' I ask and she sighs
'Charlotte, we had no idea that we were pregnant with twins. When we had the two of you we absolutely freaked out. We didn't know what to do. We didn't think we could look after the two of you. We hadn't even named you yet. We couldn't decide which to give up. It was so hard. We named the both of you and had the hospital investigate who would want to adopt a baby girl or a baby boy. We had a couple offer to take you Charlotte, we had them checked out and got the police to check them out, they seemed fine and they said to us that we'd be able to visit you whenever. When you were about 6 months they told us that they were taking you to visit family in America for 2 months. I accepted that because you were there daughter by law at the time. When you didn't come back after 2 months, I was cool with it but after 4 months and absolutely no contact with them. I freaked out, I called in the Police. They tracked them down and found out that you were living in Ireland with them after 3 years. You were almost 4, they asked if you were happy and you said yes. Your parents managed to find a clause in the adoption papers that cut you off from us. I regret giving you up everyday. Everyday. I am so sorry Charlotte' she explains and hangs her head low, I can tell that she's ashamed
'I understand completely'
'You do?'
'Yes. It's like what I did for my son Mika. I knew that I couldn't keep him. So I gave him up. He was adopted by a couple that moved away and wouldn't let me see him. The only major difference is that you still had Liam to take care of and to take your mind off of things, off of me. Unlike Liam, Mika's twin sister died before she was born. Her name was Avery Scarlett. I was greiving the loss of both my children. Then Mika was put back up for adoption and another couple adopted him. I got to see him anytime I wanted to. He was still my son, the couple even let him call me Mummy. I was so happy and my life re-started. I am so sorry for saying that I didn't want the police to let me see you. I didn't even know who you were' I say now ashamed and I can see Mum crying
'Sweetie I am so sorry about Avery and how Mika was ripped away from you for that time' she says and I nod
'It's not your fault, I just felt so alone' I say beginning to tear up
'Alone? Where was the father? Where were your parents?' She asks
'Yes alone. My "parents" were annoyed with the fact that I wasn't perfect. Because apparently pregnancy causes imperfections' I roll my eyes, in my view imperfections are what make a person 'and the father...well...' I drag off at the end and look at Liam. He nods as if was reading my mind, his message clear "it's okay to tell mum" I sigh and look back towards Mum 'He left to go audition for the X-Factor. I knew I was pregnant but I broke up with him a few weeks before auditions, where he got through to bootcamp and was placed with 4 idiots to create One Direction. Niall never knew about Mika or Avery and he forgot about me. I was bullied because I gave him up so he could live his dream. So he had no one holding him back rooting him in spot. I gave him up because O knew that the second he found out I was pregnant he would quit and possibly end up blaming his ruined career on our children. I know how that feels and I didn't want that for my kid. So I gave him up, but I still loved him and I still do. Everyday, I think of how much he hates me. Of how much he should hate me' I say and my Mum frowns sadly
'You are definitely my child, always thinking of others' I hear a knock at the door and see Lou standing there with a smiling Mika. I run over and engulf him in a hug.
'I MISSED YOU!' I yell into his shoulder
'I MISSED YOU TOO CHARLIEBEAR!!!' he shouts and I smile
'Hey Mum! Do you wanna see your grandson?'
LOUIS'S POV
'Hey Mum! Do you wanna see your grandson?' Char says and I look at her confused, she hates her parents why would she sound so exited for Mika to meet her mother. I look over at the screen to see Liam and his Mum. I gasp and pull out my phone to text Liam so I could find out what the hell was going on.

NO WAY!!! u see what being in luv with him did to her. He was her drug and without him she didnt want to live. U saw that. I cant let niall hurt her, what if wr on tour and he gets drunk and goes home with a girl or he does an interview and they twist the words so that it hurts her. He is not coming near my sister
I sigh and put my phone away, I slowly tune into the conversation between a very happy Charlotte and Mrs. Payne.
