Twenty One: Company

I looked tentatively down at my watch as I walked towards my front door. Whoever was here was early, which seemed odd to me since my company wasn't really ever know for being early. Or being on time, for that matter.

I opened up to find that flashy smile in front me. Which on normal occasion, I wouldn't have minded much, but tonight I'm having company. As in people. As in more than one person inside my house for the first time in almost a year.

"What's up?" I asked as she strolled into my flat uninvited. "I thought you would be halfway to Ireland by now."

Andie was apparently going to be some sort of translator in Ireland for a group of Dutch people, and I would have thought that her plane would have left already. Hence, my surprise at her sudden visit.

"My plane to Ireland got delayed because of the snow, so instead of doing crossword puzzles from 1988 I decided to come here and do a lesson with you."

"I can't tonight, And." I said, making my way back to the kitchen.

"What?" She asked, grabbing my arm, "I thought we had gotten over the whole I-am-never-going-out-again thing."

I shook her off of me, "I have."

"Then give me one good reason why you can't come."

"I'm having company." I stated, making it into the kitchen this time.

Andie started laughing her loud, manly laugh before sitting down on a stool. "No, seriously, Styles. I need a reason."

I glared at her about to try to convince her of my real company, but on as if they knew what our argument was about, I heard the door open and a couple voices muffle through the flat. I smiled triumphantly at Andie whose mouth was hanging open.

"You have company!" She exclaimed, poking her head out of the kitchen to see if it was really true. "Louis!" She exclaimed and then she ran off.

I threw a dishtowel over my shoulder and went out as well to greet them all. It wasn't anybody super special, just Louis, Niall, and Gemma, but they were company nonetheless. Andie, I am assuming, has added her self into the mix voluntarily.

"Hey." I said as a greeting, pulling Andie away from everyone and depositing her behind me. She huffed at the action, trying to get around to met everyone, but I wouldn't let her.

They all smiled and returned the greeting. Gem hugged me, while the very feisty Andie still tried to get around me in the small entryway.

"You must be Andromeda." Niall said when he got past me to see her.

"Please, call me Andie."

"You didn't tell me she would be here, Harry." Louis said.

"I didn't know she would be here. Technically she is supposed to be in Ireland right now."

Andie started walking away from us back towards the kitchen when she said, "Yes, but now you're going to set me a place at the table, Styles."

My sister raised an eyebrow, "I like her." She mentioned as she too went towards the kitchen to meet my eccentric friend.

Shaking my head vigorously, I went back in where everybody else was to find Andie talking with Niall. As I finished up dinner, I saw her move effortlessly from conversation to conversation without ever missing a beat or stumbling over her own words, like I had done only a few days ago. Save Louis, these were perfect strangers to her, but she got along so well with them as if she had known them for her whole life. I sighed, wondering if I would ever be as gregarious and bold as Andie is now.
