i saw him today

for the first time since skies turned gray

and he was still the exact same

fitting in a perfect frame

and i just stood there, so lost

not knowing what talking would cost

all he said was suzanne

my name rolled off his tongue

in a slow whisper and it took mine away

all i had to say blew away and rose in to the air

like cigarette smoke gently blown

a gift to the clouds that rains invisible drops to our chests

corrupting our lungs, stealing our breath

cause that is the gift they really want

all he said was my name

and the memories began

but who said

that was the gift i wanted
