CHAPTER 18

"Who is she, Sebastian?"

Di ko pinansin ang tanong ni Lianne. I was too worried of Camille right now.

I stared at her. Nakapikit pa rin ang mga mata niya and still groaning with pain.

"Manong, pakibilisan naman ho!"

Tumalima naman ang driver.

Nang makarating kami sa ospital ay agad namang dinaluhan ng mga nurse si Camille.

Malungkot syang nakatitig sa'kin habang tinutulak na sya ng mga nurse papasok sa delivery room.

Di ko alam pero ramdam ko na parang may gusto siyang sabihin sa'kin.

When she's totally out of my sight, ilang beses akong napasign of the cross.

God, I'm so worried!

Kung pwedeng sumama ako sa kanya sa loob ay gagawin ko!

Pero naisip kong, hindi nga pala ako ang ama ng dinadala niya.So why would I do that?

But I'm still the uncle of that child! Pwede namang mag-aalala ng ganito di ba?

Tinawagan ko na si Mom and she's heading her way here.

"Who is she, Sebastian? No- is she the one you're in love with?"

Di ko sinagot si Lianne.

I heard her laugh drily.

"I think she's the one. Bakit pa kasi ako nagtanong. I can tell right away that she's the one , by just merely seeing how worried you are earlier. The way you look at her is different from the way you look at me."

Natigilan ako.

Am I that transparent?

"I am way too better than her, Sebastian. Why'd you fall for that kind of girl? She seems like a whore. I mean, she's pregnant and I'm pretty sure it's not yours! She's way too low for you-"

"SHUT UP!"
Galit na sinigawan ko ito.

Bakit? Bakit masakit marinig mula sa iba ang mga masasakit na salita na 'yun? Ganito rin ba ang naramdaman ni Camille noon habang pinagsasalitaan ko siya ng mga masasakit na salita?
Maybe, mas masakit pa.

"Don't you dare call her like that! Hindi mo pa siya kilala!"

She gasped.

"It's the first time I saw you this mad just because of a woman! She's really the one you're in love with! But just like what I've said, sa oras na makilala ko ang babae'ng mahal mo, I'll make her life miserable. Let's see, Sebastian."

"She's not the one ,okay?! She's my late brother's wife!"
Iritadong sabi ko nalang sa kanya para tumahimik na siya. Nag-aalala rin ako para kay Camille. Lianne is the type of person na ginagawa talaga kung ano ang sinasabi nito.

Masayang nginitian ako ni Lianne.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I was just jealous. I'm sorry Sebastian. Akala ko kasi-"

"Just shut up, Lianne!"

Tumahimik naman agad ito.

Ilang oras pa ang lumipas bago lumabas ang doktor mula sa delivery room.

Napatayo agad ako.

"You must be the husband?"
Tanong nya sa'kin.

I wish I am but sadly, I'm not.

"No! He's just her brother-in-law! Psh!"
Sansala ni Lianne.

Gusto ko mang pagalitan si Lianne pero tama naman siya eh. I'm just Camille's brother-in-law!
