Welcome to the FBI - Divergent
TRIS POV
Today is my last day at Chicago High. I never realised how much of a responsibility the 'real' world is, though, I am glad I'm leaving this hell hole. All this week, I've just been going through university papers, trying to find the right fit for me.
I guess I could just stay here in Chicago. Close to home, close to my childhood. Although there are parts I'd like to forget. I start walking home. It's funny how graduation happens at our school. We graduate a couple of days before we leave.
I know screwed up, tell me about it. I miss my walking buddy, Robert, he was my neighbour and one of my only friends. He moved to Los Angeles a couple of months ago but his family were in a car crash a month ago. And were all killed.
I of course went to their funeral. But I didn't come home the same. I felt like an emotional wreck, I wouldn't eat, I wouldn't talk and I wouldn't even sleep for a while until my body couldn't take it anymore.
I got involved in school sports to take my mind off everything that's been happening around me. It turns out I'm pretty good at it. I arrive at the steps of my house and open the door. Blood is a strange colour, it marks the walls. Where it would usually be grey.
