"Okay," Katie whispered.

She sang the song all the way through.

Beth and Maggie joined in along the way.

The three sang until the group was asleep.

"Goodnight ladies," Katie whispered.

"Welcome to our new home," Beth whispered.

Katie smiled.

She slowly drifted off into a deep sleep.

For once, she actually believed that she was safe.

When she awoke the next morning, the field was still secure.

She was still safe.

"Good morning sunshines!" Katie said in a sing-song voice.

The group giggled.

Katie had not been in this good of a mood since they had first gotten to the farmhouse.

Lori, who was very very pregnant at this point, sat on the grass, watching everyone.

"Carl, I bet you that I can beat you in a race from this side of the fence to the other," Katie challenged.

"Deal," Carl agreed.

The two of them stood up against the fence.

"Maggie, can you count down for us?" Katie called.

"Sure thing! On your marks! Get set! Go!" Maggie called.

The two took off.

Katie sprinted as fast as she could.

Due to the lack of food, water, and sleep, they both had all lost strength and endurance.

However, Katie still stood victorious in the race.

When her hand touched the cold, sharp metal of the other fence, her face broke out into a large smile.

"What did I say, bud? I will win. Sooner or later you'll figure out that I'm always right," Katie said, ruffling Carl's hair.

"Yeah yeah," Carl laughed.

Lori laughed at this exchange, but was internally cursing Katie for having a better relationship with Carl than she did.

The whole group was entertained by the race.

Today, the group was going to clear out the cell blocks and fight further into the prison.

Katie was in a group with Rick, Glenn, Maggie, Daryl, T-Dog and Herschel.

They were clearing out a hallway, when they heard Herschel scream.

A walker had bitten his leg.

Katie gasped loudly, her hand flying to her mouth.

Maggie grabbed Glenn's arm.

Rick dragged Herschel into the clear cell block.

He pulled his axe out of its holster.

"Rick!" Katie shouted.

He didn't seem to hear her, despite the fact she was standing next to him.

Rick began to cut off Herschel's leg just below the knee.

Rick knew that he needed Herschel, that Lori needed Herschel.

Everyone thought that Rick was trying to help Herschel, but really he was just scared to lose Lori and the baby.
