EIGHTEEN || Camila.
I held Annie's leash as Julien and Damien said their goodbyes. Their embrace was warm and they both looked genuinely sad to have to leave one another. I didn't want anyone to be sad. In fact, I thought it'd be better if no goodbyes had to be said, but it wasn't about me and I continued to tell myself this. I knelt down and wrapped my arms around the sweetest puppy in the world. If I wanted to forget about all of my problems, all I had to do was look down at Annie. She was perfect and I truly loved her, but what was the most endearing was how much she loved Damien. He was her hero, her rescuer. She truly looked at him like he was the only soul in the world.
Julien and Damien finished up and then Damien took her leash from me. I looked at my boyfriend and wondered how I was actually supposed to say goodbye to him. Tears clouded my eyes as he looked at me and I knew that all I wanted was to simply hold onto him. I threw my arms around his neck and did just that. Goodbyes were never easy, but I had to keep reminding myself that he wasn't going to be gone from my life. We were going to be fine and I just needed to get it together.
"I'll call you everyday..."
"I know."
"I love you so much." I nodded again.
"I know you do..." I held his face in my hands and I kissed him with every ounce of strength in my body. "And I love you, Julien."
"Keep an eye on Damien, please?" He said this so quietly, I could barely hear him, but I kissed his neck and pulled away.
