Chapter Fourteen

Once schools over, I go to the lake. I see Jason and Angie, they're hugging. Angie's laughing Jason is splashing water at her. "Hey! Your that girl!" A familiar voice yells, as I turn around. It's Conor. "Ugh! Your one of those relaxed girls... going to the lake and crap!" He groans, "hey! I'm just checking out the lake!" I yell, "ugh, bye." He says. I look over at the lake and Angie and Jason are holding hands.

Maybe they're just good friends.

That night I stay up, studying for a test. The next day I see Conor. "Hi!" I say, "hi..." he sighs, "are you tired?" I ask, "yes! I studied all night last night!" He groans. We start walking together. "Same." I say, as the wind blows by me. "Do you have a cold yet?" He asks, "no. I'm not looking forward to it." I respond. Once I say that, my class is right in front of us.

"Bye."

"Bye."

Me and Connor gradually become better friends. We decide to stay after school, (in the building) and help set up the Halloween dance. On Monday it starts.

After it ends me and Conor take a walk near the lake. We see Angie and Jason in the lake.

"Let's go over." Conor says, "no Jason..." I say, "let's just do it! Your curious right?" Conor boasts, "fine." I groan, as I follow him into the lake as my jeans grow damp. "Oh my god, they're kissing!" He exclaims, "what?" I boast, "haha, just kidding they're whispering." He chuckles, "what?" I gasp, "no... they're making children!" He says, as I roll my eyes. "Conor, your so stupid." I say, looking at Angie and Jason. Connor is focused on them. "Turned on, eh?" I chuckle, "gross!" He exclaims, and slightly punches me in the arm. "Listen!" He boasts, "okay..." I sigh.

"Did you know I can dance?"

"No!"

"I can."

"Hey, I have an idea... let's dance! Just to learn!"

"Haha! Your so funny Jason! You have a girlfriend, that would be wrong!"

"I'm not joking."

"Wh-what... Jason..."

"Just to learn! Please!"

"What's the harm in that? Haha! This is fun! I never get to dance with other people!

"Tell me about it!"

They spin and laugh. It's not even inappropriate, it's just like a movie. Water splashes, it glistens in the moonlight.

"Annabelle..." Connor says, "I'm fine. Let's just go home okay?" I sigh.

He walks me back to my dorm. He hugs me. It's not a 'love hug' it's an 'it's gonna be okay hug' and to be honest, those are actually my favorite ones!

I walk to my dorm room, Kate and Allison are eating sushi. "Jason is falling for Angie!" I whimper, "oh, little Annabelle!" Allison dramatically says, "I'm not joking! They're dancing in the lake and... and..!" My voice trails off, "Annabelle... Jason loves you!" Kate boasts, "no, he loves Angie!" I cry, "Jason is a good guy. Why would he do such a terrible thing like an affair?" Allison asks, "I don't know!" I boast, "let's go to bed." Kate says, turning the lights off.
