"N-no, no, p-p-please!"

"No!"

I jolt awake, sitting up in the sudden fright. My heart hammers in my chest and beads of sweat trace my brow. I wipe them away. I hold my head in my hands, tears filling my eyes. I attempt to blink them away, only causing them to fall down my cheeks.

"It was just a nightmare, it was just... just a nightmare" I whisper, repeating the words over and over again.

Hasty footsteps enter the bunk room, halting right in front of my bed. The person ripped open the curtain separating the bed from the room. A blinding light entered my eyes, also illuminating the small space around me.

Squinting my eyes, I try to make out who the blurry figure (face hehe) in front of me was, as I was still adjusting to the sudden brightness. It was Josh.

He studies my face, his brows furrowed. A look of worry etched across his features. Realisation hits me that I had just been crying and I quickly wipe my cheeks, flashing a fake smile.

"I'm alright Josh, it was... it was just a nightmare." I say, my voice shaking. His expression softens as he realises what happened.

This is embarrassing

Tears start to well up in my eyes again, vivid memories flashing across my mind.
"Yeah, just a-a n-nightmare." I say, my voice starting to wobble.

I squeeze my eyes shut, titling my head down to the ground.

Don't cry, don't cry.

He gently places a cool hand on my shoulder. My eyes shoot open, and I jump at his touch, not being used to something so gentle. He notices and rubs my shoulder, trying relax me.

"Hey-" he softly whispers.
He places his other hand under my chin and lifts my head up so I'm looking at him. A light shade of pink traces my cheeks.

"It's alright, I'm here." He says as he places his hand from under my chin onto my other shoulder, giving me a reassuring look. He stops rubbing my shoulder and squeezes it, flashing a small but sweet smile. I let out a shaky breath and look away, a lump forming in my throat.

"Why are you so... so nice to me? You barely even know me. I don't even...I don't even deserve this kindness anyway." I croak, shutting my eyes at the last sentence. He frowns.

"Don't say that, you deserve all of the kindness in the world" Josh says.
"And I know I haven't known you for long, but I do care about you."

I turn my head back around to face him.
"But-but why would you care about me?" I ask, confused.

"Because, your not only a fan, but a.... a friend to me as well. And I care about both of those." He says with a smile and I smile back. We stare at each other for a couple of seconds and I see a light blush covering his cheeks.

"Thank you." I say as I wrap my arms around him, giving him a quick hug. He hugged back but held it for longer than I expected. Heat rises to my cheeks.

"Okay now" he says as he releases himself from the embrace.
"Lets go get you some-"

"Cereal?!" I cut him off excitedly.

"Yep" he laughs.

"Yes" I say dragging on the 's'.

He laughs again and stands up, extending his hand towards me. I take it and pull myself up off of the bed and stand up besides him. I follow him out of the room and Tyler greets me from the couch.

"Morning, sleeping beauty. You must've had a good sleep seeing it's 12pm" he smirks.

I walk over to him.
"Oh yes, it was a very good sleep. But you're the real sleeping beauty, your snoring does sound very um... elegant." I retort.

"I know right!" Josh jokes as he semi yells from the kitchen.

"You can both make fun of my snoring, but you're just jealous of how beautiful it is." Tyler says while raising his hands in the air.

"Oh I could listen to it aaall day" I smile and sit down on the other side of the couch. I look over to Tyler, and see he's smiling as well. We look at each other and burst out into a fit of giggles.

I look up and see that Josh is walking over with two bowls of cereal in his hands

I look up and see that Josh is walking over with two bowls of cereal in his hands. He stops in front of the small coffee table and places a bowl in front of me.

"Oh! Thank you, you didn't have to do that" I smile as I look up at him.

"I was already making one for myself so I thought I should make one for you as well" He smiles back.

"But you already had cereal" Tyler laughs.

"I-I can have more than one bowl of cereal if I want to." Josh says awkwardly as he sits in between Tyler and I.

"But-"

"Shush" Josh says, cutting Tyler off.

I giggle and grab the bowl he gave me. I sit back into the couch and cross my legs, digging into the cereal that I was so craving. I didn't realise how hungry I was.

A few minutes past of plain silence, besides the crunches of cereal and the clanking of the metal spoons on the small ceramic bowls. I was starting to feel slightly awkward until Josh spoke up.

"Hey, y/n" Josh said as he placed his empty bowl on the table.
"I was thinking since we don't have a concert to perform tonight, we could go out and do something today?" Josh asked.

"Yeah sure, that would be fun." I smiled at Josh.

"Okay cool, Tyler?" Josh smiled back at me and turned to Tyler.

"Sorry I can't, I have to go to lunch with Jenna." Tyler says.

"Okay so it'll be just me and you, y/n" Josh says as he turns back to me.

"Cool" I say, giving him another smile, and I receive one back from him.

Meanwhile Tyler ginned like an idiot as he watched us.
