Don't give up just yet.

[Josh's POV]

~

After searching just about every part of the stadium I had eventually I found Tyler lounging on a small, leather couch in the dressing room. He was playing with his phone.

"Tyler" I said abruptly, my hand gripping onto the door.

"Hm? Oh hey Josh, dude did you see that girl in the crowd wearing that burrito suit? She was crowd surfing! I couldn't believe it. I was trying so hard not to laug-" He said before I impatiently cut him off.

"Yes I did, Tyler, but there's a fan I ran into just before that really needs help" I said, giving him a desperate look.

After he heard those words he nodded his head, wasting no time getting up and out of the room.

I stood there for a second, bewildered at how he had left so fast. I shook my head and followed after him.

"Hey, dude you don't even know where she is!" I said as I caught up.

We walked side by side with a haste down the old backstage halls. He glanced over to me with a raised eyebrow, pointing out that there was an obvious solution.

"Then lead the way" He gestures with his hand.

"Uh, I-uh, ok." I stuttered, rubbing the back of my neck nervously.

I cursed under my breath, filtering through my recent memories. I had no clue where she could've been. I ran off so fast that I hadn't seen the direction she left in.

"You dipcrap, you don't know where she is do you?" He asked, easily reading my mannerisms.

"Err, no. But, I'm fairly sure she would be at the carpark, so we need to hurry." I stated and ran ahead.

Tyler ran besides me as we raced to the carpark. Fearful overwhelmed me that she was gone.

On the way I had explained to Tyler about [Y/N]'s situation and what I had saw. I told him how fearful she had looked and how she suddenly ran off, leading me to think she was being abused.

"You know Tyler, she doesn't deserve it at all. I mean, no one deserves to be in an abusive relationship but she's just, I dunno she's just sweet. There's just something about her that I find so intriguing, I just can't pin point it, but I want to get to know her more." I explained through heavy breaths.

Tyler stared at me, as if he knew something I had not.

"What?" I asked cocking my head to the side, raising a questioning eyebrow at him.

"Hmm, nothin" He smirked which immediately gained my attention.

"Really, what?" I interrogated.

"Well that's how I felt when I first met Jenn-" Tyler paused his sentence at a distant yell.

"Weak!" The voice shouted.

We look at each other worryingly.

"That sounded like Y/N." I said, both of us quickening our pace.

As we took our first steps into the carpark I glanced over my shoulder to my right.

"Tyler, stop" I whispered, holding an arm out in front of him.

I pointed to a girl curled up against a wall. Her head was rested between her legs as she took in heavy breaths.

I looked to Tyler.

"I-It's her" I whispered to him.

He glanced at me, nodding like he had earlier. Quietly, he walked towards [Y/N], kneeling down in front of her. He placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. She jumped at the touch and her head shot up. With wide eyes she looked to him, switching her gaze to me and then back at Tyler.

"Hey" He said softly.

"Are you okay?" He said and tilted his head to the side, a warm smile spread across his lips.

[Y/N POV]

"Are you okay?" Tyler said as he looked to me with genuine care.

Is this happening?

I hadn't expected this to happen at all. I thought Josh would just shrug it off and walk away, leaving me. But instead he brought Tyler, for me?

I ripped myself out of my thoughts, realising that Tyler was waiting for an answer.

"Uh, n-no" I said softly as tears run down my neck, staining the collar of my shirt. I hid my face in my hands, too ashamed to cry in front of them.

"Hey, it's okay to cry, don't hide it" He said as he softly takes my wrists in mis hands, revealing my tear stained face. I hesitate to look at them, embarrassed.

"D-do you want to talk about it?" He asked sympathetically.

Do I want to talk about it?

"N-no" I my voice shakes and I looked down.

Josh kneeled down next to Tyler and placed a warm hand on my shoulder. I flinched at the touch, but calmed as I realised it was Josh.

"Hey, hey it's alright." Josh said gently.

"Want a hug?" He asked, opening his arms out.

I let out a small laugh and nod my head. He laughed along with me and embraced me in a tight hug. I wrap my arms around him, feeling the warmth of his skin beneath my fingertips. I sighed, enjoying the pleasant feeling of the embrace. It felt good to be hugged by someone, I hadn't experienced one in years.

Tyler wrapped his own arms around the both of us, joining in on the embrace. I smiled, melting into Josh's bare chest.

The hug was so warm. I had forgotten what it was like to feel happy. To feel otherworldly and devoid of any and all problems. To feel like I could leap to the moon in a single bound.

I didn't want it to end.
