Mabel POV

"Here Dipper." I give my brother a small, sodden smile as I wrap the arm he injured when he fell, the white bandages causing guilt to rise up inside me. "Thanks Mabel." Suddenly the door bursts open to reveal two figures. "Kids! Are you alright?!" Worried faces are painted onto my two great uncles faces. "Y-yea, we're fine." "What exactly happened?" I sigh and try to avert eye contact; before I can answer, Dipper explains. "Well Great Uncle Ford, while you were in California Bill and his gang attacked the head quarters..." My brother continues telling the dreaded events that had just rolled out, not leaving out any details. I hang my head in shame as he tells of Bill's hold on me. Noticing my silence, Stan turns to me and smiles. "Kid, it's okay. You were up against the biggest and baddest guy in this whole freakin' town! And not to mention you got him to the gut." "But Grunkle Stan! I was helpless and he escaped!" Great Uncle Ford suddenly intrudes, "Mabel, you did the best you could. Now as for that note, let me see it Dipper." Dipper hands Ford the paper; as Ford unfolds the paper, his face changes from one to worry, to one of seriousness. "Children..." We gaze up at our great uncle as the look turns to a grave one, "you are to get out of here, immediately. No arguing." "But-" "This is for your own good. We have a location that you can stay at until all the details of your return to California." "But what about the headquarters?" "We'll have to shut it down for minor repairs. For now, the two of you will be coming with me." Dipper and I give solemn nods to our Great Uncle, knowing we have no way out of this. "Alright."

(Deedaleedee, time skipadoo)

I can't help but smile as my gaze drifts towards the familiar hut upon the grassy hill. "Nothing's changed has it?" Before my brother and I lays old memories; the mystery shack standing high with pride. The two of us walk into the familiar family room, everything still in place. We slowly make our way up the stairs and into our old room. "Who would have thought that we'd be back here again, after all these years?" I ask my brother as I begin to unpack. Finding the silence deafening, I take the earbuds of my phone and hit play. I listen to the singer's soothing voice as tears spring to my eyes and I take in the room's left behind possessions.

Let's go in the garden
You'll find something waiting
Right there where you left it                                                                                                                                   Lying upside down

I let my eyes drift across the room, spotting parts of our different make believe adventures. My eyes stop on an old tiger stuffed animal, I had left behind so whenever I wanted it, my thoughts would trail back to Gravity Falls and I would never forget.

When you finally find it                                                                                                                                             You'll see how it's faded                                                                                                                                           The underside is lighter                                                                                                                                           When you turn it around

I let my hand graze the soft surface, seeing it's color faded from orange to an almost gray color. It's stitching hanging loosely; it ones shining eyes glazed over.

Everything stays                                                                                                                                                       Right where you left it                                                                                                                           Everything stays                                                                                                                                                   But it still changes                                                                                                                                               Ever so slightly                                                                                                                                                   Daily and nightly                                                                                                                                                   In little ways                                                                                                                                                    When everything stays

I hold it close to my chest and squeeze it tight, the memories shared with my brother and old friends crowding my mind, as tears begin to stain the dusty fabric of the tiger. It's great to finally be home...
