||Mercy's POV||

I'm okay. It's okay. No.
No it's not. Not at all. What's happening what's going on I was just fine and-

|| flashback||

"You fucking twat"
"What did I do this time?" I ask
"You fucking skipped school!" My dad slurs
"No I didn't actually" I say feeling quite brave
"You did! It's in your damn records! You will never succeed in life if you keep skipping!"
"I wouldn't have to skip if you didn't leave bruises on me!" I yell. Bad fucking choice
"What." He says getting closer
"I-I-I-uh" I stutter hesitating my next move. I could run, and get beat worse or take what's coming.
"Well maybe I'll leave bruises where people can't see then. How's that bitch" he spits in my face

He kneed me in the gut, which causes me to fall on the ground. My sight goes blurry.

"Fucking bitch! I'll leave bruises if I want too!"

He kicks me multiple times before my mom steps in and gets slapped as well. She never steps in but this time he went over the top. I passed out. Maybe I'm just as worthless as he said I was..

||end of flashback||

"Mercy" ally whispers
"M-m-m-m-mum" I stutter looking around for comfort
"This hasn't happened in a long time" Stevie sighs
"I-I-I-I-I"
"Shhh it's okay" ally coos

She holds me on her arms singing while I calm down.

I fall asleep in her arms.

(A/n Let's say mercy is 16 because 18 is too old I'm sorry I keep changing the age. Mercy is 16 and Lauren is 18 okay? Deal last time I'm changing the age sorry I feel like an idiot now but I mean oh well..)

I wake up wondering what happened.

"Mum?" I look around
"In here!" She calls

I walk out and see her sitting on the kitchen counter, it looks like she's been crying but it's hard to tell.

"Are you okay?" I ask
"Yes mercy I'm fine" ally says sternly
"Are you sure?" I ask
"I said I'm fine!" She snaps at me.

That was rare and it shocked me just as much as it shocked her.

"I-I'm sorry" I say walking away
"No mercy come here I'm sorry" she says
"No you obviously need your space" I say
"Mercy" she says
"What ally?" I turn around
"I'm sorry okay" she says
"Yeah okay" I sigh walking away to my room to find Lauren and camz on my bed

"How?-"
"We got in through the window-"
"It's not safe to leave your window unlocked baby" Lauren cuts Camila off
"Yeah I know" I sigh
"What's wrong?" Camz asks
"Something's up with mum" I say
"Anything you can think of that upset her?" Lauren asks her orbs burning into mine
"No besides last night.." I say
"What happened last night?" Cams asks
"I had another flashback" I sigh
"I thought-"
"Yeah so did I" I look down at my hands to avoid connection, I often do this a lot when I'm nervous and or scared to make a connection. I look away or change the subject.

"Baby, look at me." Lauren says
"Everything will be okay" she adds
"How do you know-"
"Remember, hope"
