~Chapter 2: Encounter~
«S E O L»

"Who is that girl?" I heard someone whisper.

"You don't know her? She's like quite a big talk among the other classes. Don't think anybody knows her name though." I heard another person whisper.

They don't know my name? I opened my eyes and stood up from my desk.

I stood up and walked towards the doorway.

I stopped at the doorway where they were standing.

"Just leave me alone. I didn't do anything to be treated like this." I said in an almost inaudible tone.

I went into the toilet and washed my face. My face became even paler and paler after that.

Just in time, I walked into class and thank god the teacher wasn't there yet. Everyone was inside the class and I sat at my desk and stared out the window. Somebody walked up to my desk and just stood there.

"Hey." I turned around to look at them, and it was a guy.

He had very pale skin, I wondered if he was a vampire.

But then I heard the sound of his heart, and thought, I should ignore him. He's not like me, so I shouldn't bother. Ignore him.

He saw me not respond, so his expression changed.

"I wanted to say sorry for disturbing you this morning. I didn't mean to annoy you. And I didn't quite catch your name, even though you're in my class." He said and smiled sincerely.

A human, apologising to me? Wouldn't it usually be the other way around?

"I'm Hwang Seol. Why are you here?" I asked with an annoyed voice.

"Hwang Seol? You have a nice name. I hope you enjoy your day." He complimented, but I don't think it's real.... it wouldn't be and it would never happen.

I didn't know what to say. A human being talking to me? How extraordinary. Is this a miracle? A miracle from the underworld?

The teacher walked in before I could say anything. Good thing the conversation didn't go further. I didn't want to talk to him in the first place anyways.

«Y O O N G I»

Morning.

People call me a very 'happy person'. The only thing that doesn't make me happy is school.

*at school*

"Hey Yoongi!" BTS called out to me on the way to school. We all walk together to school and talk about random things.

"Anything interesting going on?" I asked curiously.

"Well- have you guys heard about how supernatural beings exist?"

"What? Who would believe such a lie?" Namjoon aka 'the smart one' retorted.

"I believe in them!" Our maknae, of course, said that. What a seven year old.

"Do you believe in them, Yoongi?" They asked me in unison.

"I agree with Namjoon. Nothing like that exists."

"But some people see stuff like that at night!" Jungkook whined.

"Jungkook, are you really that dumb to believe in such things? It's probably just their imaginations."

We were just arguing about supernatural beings the whole time to school.

We arrived at the school gate and people were fangirling about us, but they didn't come rushing to us.
Good.

I noticed something shiny at the corner of my eye, and it was that girl again.

The silver-haired girl that nobody talks to. I just wonder what she does when she gets bored at school. I should stop.

But just following her a bit wouldn't hurt.

....Right?

I asked Jimin to follow her with me. Jimin was quite confused when I told him to follow me.

I saw her walking into our class, but it wasn't even time to go in yet. She didn't even turn the lights on, she must've wanted to take a nap.

I didn't want to disturb her, so I quietly started asking Jimin things.

"Who is that girl?" I made sure to ask quietly, hoping she doesn't hear us or notice our presence.

"You don't know her? She's like quite a big talk among the other classes. Don't think anybody knows her name though." Jimin quietly whispered back.

But all of a sudden, she stood up from her chair.

I panicked.

Did she hear us?

Oh no.

She walked towards the doorway where we were standing and stopped to look at us for a moment.

"Just leave me alone. I didn't do anything to be treated like this." She told us off and I could hear how sad she was.

I feel sorry for her.

I want to apologise to her. She seems very lonely... But I feel like she's not creepy. Maybe she's just sad. But her voice is surprisingly.... very soothing to hear.

––––

After a couple periods, it was break time. People could eat basically anywhere they wanted, as long as they didn't make any noise.

But as everyone took out their lunch boxes, she just stared out the window.

I've never seen her eat before. Is that why she's so pale? Is she that sick? I took this chance to talk to her.

I walked up to her desk and stood there.

"Hey." I tried to say as confidently as I can.

She turned around and looked at me for a bit, but she didn't respond.

"I wanted to say sorry for disturbing you this morning. I didn't mean to annoy you. And I didn't quite catch your name, even though you're in my class." I said with a hint of guilt in my voice.

"I'm Hwang Seol. Why are you here?" I could tell she was annoyed, but I really just felt sorry for her.

"Hwang Seol? You have a nice name. I hope you enjoy your day." I complimented with as smile that I hope she was able to return.

She was about to part her lips to speak up, but the teacher came right in.

I just wanted a small talk with her to get to know her more.

I shouldn't give up.
