LEXA POV:

I couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy when I saw my group of friends round the corner into my line of vision, except one unfamiliar face was present. And he had his arm draped around Clarke's shoulders, who seemed more than happy to let him do so, as she played with his hand and laughed with him and I really wanted to pull Clarke out of his arms and into my own, but something told me that that wasn't exactly going to help me win over Clarke. After running into the blonde in the dormitory hall, I had called Anya in a panic, who told me to pull myself together and pursue the Arkadian. But this boy complicated things, and I wasn't happy about it.

I felt my jaw clench the closer they got, so I could now hear the boy and Clarke laughing with each other, I clenched my fists and shuffled uncomfortably, adjusting my leather jacket and hair, earning me a questioning but knowing look from Raven, who seemed somewhat amused as she already caught on. Clarke however, was still caught up with her new boy toy.

"Hi, Lexa. How are you?" Clarke asked, (finally) detaching herself from the tall boy who had a rather muscular frame, and wore black jeans, boots, a simple white T-shirt and a grey bomber jacket. I swallowed my feelings of jealously, deciding that it was stupid considering Clarke and I weren't even dating, so I had no reason to be, but the feeling still crept back.

"I'm good, ready to watch this film and forget about my paper due. How are you?" I asked, my tone polite as my eyes darted between the boy and Clarke, almost challengingly, which seemed to confuse him.

"I'm great. This is Wells, by the way. The best friend I told you about, he surprised me by coming down to visit. Wells, this is Lexa- one of the best people I know who is also an adorable dork" She complimented, practically beaming. I felt suddenly rather foolish for making assumptions, remembering how Clarke had compared Wells to a brotherly figure, and allowed myself to relax a little as we walked in a three, with Raven and Octavia buying tickets up ahead.

"It's nice to finally put a face to a name. Honestly, Clarke talks about you so much, I'm certain I could write your biography OUCH THAT HURT CLARKE" Wells half shouted in pain after a blushing Clarke elbowed him in the side, but he was still grinning smugly, and I couldn't help but laugh at the pair, despite a lingering jealously that I didn't feel I meant as much to Clarke as did, which sounds selfish, and it was probably true since we had only known each other for just under a month, but it still made me feel as though I wanted to prove myself to her. So as we walked towards the screening, I took Clarke's hand in my own casually, I could practically sense her smile as she leaned into me, holding my forearm with her other hand as we walked. I looked up to see Wells give me a secret nod of encouragement, and even though I didn't know the taller boy at all, he gave off a gentle vibe. And he was Clarke's best friend, so it was enough to make me feel better. And something about the way he looked at us with a happy expression, told me he knew every detail of what had gone on between Clarke and I in the past month or so. He offered me once last smile before walking ahead to catch up with the others, leaving Clarke and I lagging at the back, not that we minded.

"I could get used to this" Clarke mumbled her thumb caressing my arm absentmindedly. I smiled slightly.

"Get used to what?" I questioned, looking down slightly, our eyes locking for a moment before we both looked ahead again.

"Cinema dates. You. Octavia's and Raven's teasing. You and Wells exchanging silent conversation through facial expressions" She spoke contently, my heart flipping at the words 'dates' , but in that moment, I didn't care about labelling us. I just cared about us in that moment, no future, no past..just us in the moment.

"You caught onto that?" I blushed slightly, not realising that she had noticed.

"I can read Wells better than I can read a book" She chuckled.
