LEXA POV:

"ADEN! LET'S GO BUDDY" I shouted after my little brother upon realising he wasn't at my side, surprised when I turned around and looked back to see him chatting to Clarke with that mischievous smile and puppy eyes that no one could refuse. He did turn around quickly to look at me before turning back to Clarke.

"What is that kid up to" I murmured to myself, seeing his pleased smile as he shouted goodbye to Clarke as he ran towards me, still grinning. I raised a brow as he stood before me, pulling a face of false innocence.

"What?" He asked, shrugging his shoulders.

"What was that about?" I questioned as we stood half way up the driving, eyes darting over to the car where I could see Clarke on her phone, before locking eyes with my blonde haired baby brother.

"I was just saying it was nice to meet her" He explained in a playfully defensive tone as we started to slowly walk towards the door of the house where his friend lived at. I could tell by the way he was awkwardly shuffling and his general body language that there was something he wanted to say.

"Alright, kid, spit it out already" I sighed, stopping as we reached the door, but making sure not to ring the bell yet. He sighed in defeat, pulling his hands out his pocket with a small smile threatening the edges of his lips.

"So Clarke is nice" He said simply. I furrowed my brow, not sure what he was getting at.

"What are you suggesting?" I questioned with a frown. He rolled his eyes.

"Clarke is nice, Lexa...you should ask her out. It's obvious you like each other anyway so what's the point in waiting?" He clarified.

"It's not as simple as that" I tried to tell him, but he wasn't one to give up.

"You like her. She likes you. Simple" He quipped, smirking slightly.

"I barely know her. I met her two weeks ago" I continued, unsure whether I was trying to convince my brother or myself, by this point.

"That's what dates are for, Lex. You get to know each other. I thought you were supposed to be the wise adult here?" He joked, making me chuckle slightly. His tone went softer and quieter "I see the way you look at her. You don't look at just friends like that...Just ask her out. You've got nothing to lose"

"We'll see, okay? You're pretty damn wise for you age, you know that?" I smiled, ruffling his hair

"Just think about it, okay?" He asked hopefully, those god damn puppy eyes gazing into mine. I couldn't help but hope than he never used those puppy eyes on Clarke- God knows he could use them to get his way pretty much any time he wanted. Such as in this situation for example.

"Fine, Fine...I'll ask her out" I rolled my eyes, finally pressing the bell. I couldn't help but smile at the triumphant look on the face of the young boy beside me, bidding him farewell as I wandered back to the car, thinking about what he had just said, and what I had just promised to do.

I tried my best to hide my nervous, thoughtful expression once I had entered the car, ready to go on this...well, whatever the hell Clarke and I were about to go on. A friendly dinner? A date? An unofficial date? The latter felt most appropriate, but I wasn't sure. It felt as though neither Clarke nor myself had the courage to actually confirm the dinner as being a date, but any time with Clarke was a gift to me- date or not.

"Alright" I grinned, revving the engine "Let's get this evening underway. You ready?" I asked with a grin, Clarke smiling back at me.

"Ready"
