CHAPTER 36 : OUR FIRST KISS

Shreya P.O.V.:

It's been almost two months. I'd rather say almost two long months. Almost two months since our first kiss miss. In these two months, me and Nandu almost had our first kiss a number of times. But every time it's a first kiss miss. One or the other person interrupts us. Seems like everyone is hell bent on making our first kiss a miss.

First Muskaan. Then one by one our family. Soon even our office work became our enemies. We hardly had time for each other. The only time we meet is in the evening and every time our enemies disturb us.

I'm waiting at the beach for Nandu at our regular meeting place. He soon came there and sat beside me. He says "Good evening Pari." I say "Good evening. Another new name huh ?" He asks "Do you like it ?" I say "I love it the most." He says "I love you the most." I felt my cheeks heat up.

He teases "It's been so many months and yet you don't stop blushing." I say "When there's someone beside me to make me blush every moment of my life, how can I stop blushing." He leans forward and kisses my cheek. He says "I love your blush Pari."

He then leans in towards my lips. My heart starts beating fast once again. My breath goes uneven. Our lips are millimeters away. One move, and our lips would meet. I get frightened and move back after hearing a dog's bark. I look forward and find a dog staring at us. Once again. First kiss miss.

Nandu in his pissed off voice says "Here, now even this dog is against our love. Damn dude. What did we even do that everyone envies our love. Ab yeh kutta bhi hamari love story main Amrish Puri ban chuka hain. (Now, even this dog became Amrish Puri in our love story.)" I roll my eyes and say "At this pace, I even doubt if we'll have our first kiss."

Just then, Nandu receives a call from maa. He picks it up and speaks "Yeah, she's with me. - Fine. We'll be there. - Maybe in 30 minutes. - Okay , bye." I ask him "What did maa say ?" He answers "Maa wants to discuss about Karwa Chauth and Diwali celebrations. She asked us to come home." I say "Let's leave then."

We both leave and reach home in about 20 minutes.We greet everyone as we enter. Malhotra family was present too. They've been here since morning.

Maa says "So, Karwa Chauth is day after tomorrow." Mom asks " Tarika, Purvi and Kajal are anyway keeping the fast. Shreya do you want to keep it ?" I say " Yes mom. I want to." Nandu asks "Why do they even keep this fast ?" Tarika Bhabhi answers "This fast is kept for the long life of their life partner." Nandu says "Then, even I'm keeping it." Papa says "Daya, it's for women." Nandu says " Dad, if they can keep it for our long life, why can't we too keep it for their long life. Whatever it is, I'm keeping the fast." I try to protest saying"Nandu, it's not required." He says " Anshi, I don't want any arguments regarding this. I'm keeping the fast. End of discussion." I give up.

Purvi says "Rajat, learn something. Look Bhai is so sweet and concerned about Bhabhi. You never did anything like this for me. Huh." Rajat says " Purvi, it's not like that." He turns to Nandu and says "Idiot. You're love story is awesome. You always put mine on rocks. If Purvi gets pissed off, then you're screwed up. Trust me." We all laugh.

Maa says "Fine then. Who else wants to keep the fast ?" Priyanka, Divya and Muskaan raise their hands. Mom says "Great. Whoever is keeping the fast should buy a red outfit to wear. Also, you need to be dressed by 4:30 for having the Sargi." We all nod our heads and then the point of discussion changes.

Dad says "The next festival is Diwali. We were planning to go to Jodhpur this Diwali. What's your take." I say "I'm loving the plan." Everyone too say that it's a good idea so it was decided that we'd go to Jodhpur for Diwali.
