Ever since Red was born, he had been different. He wasn't crying when he came out, he had bright, crimson red eyes and a full head of cherry red hair. Because of his usual color, they named him Red. They loved him with all their hearts. He was a healthy, strong, beautiful baby boy who learned fast. Red was the son his parents had always wanted.

You can imagine how shocked his mother was when her son started changing color.

Back then, Red only had two colors. When he cried he was a deep blue color and when he was happy he was his normal red. His parents weren't exactly sure why this was happening, or what was wrong with their son. No doctor could explain his condition. As a result, they were afraid. Afraid for their son... Afraid of him.

They locked him away, homeschooling him, never letting him outside for fear of him suddenly transforming. In the days of his childhood, he was usually blue. His parents always told him to control his temper, to never let himself change and to fear himself and his emotions. Once his parents were out of the house and a man carrying a package came to the door. He asked to see Red's parents. Red was so scared of the mailman because he had never learned how to talk to others. He transformed in front of him. His parents rolled into the driveway just in time to see their child turn purple. Needless to say, they weren't happy with their son that night.

But one day, when Red was about nineteen, his parents were discovered dead on the side of the highway. That night it had been raining, it was always raining in Washington. But the heavy rain and the darkness made it hard to see where they were going. They veered off the road.

They discovered Blue a week later. He was scared and alone, wondering where his parents had gone and why they had never come home. The police didn't know what to do. But since the boy was of legal age, he was technically an adult. Now he was out on the streets, owning a bank account full of his parents fortune, wearing his favorite dinosaur onesie with no idea what he was doing or where he was.

"Oh! I'm sorry..." He mumbled every time he brushed shoulders with someone. A lot, since he was on the crowded sidewalks of Seattle city. He was trying his best to keep his head down. These people had pink skin and he had blue skin. He was bound to attract attention, even he knew that.

Control yourself. He desperately thought. Happy place, happy place! He ran off the streets into the nearest store, a coffee shop. There he ran into the bathroom and locked himself into a stall. There he desperately tried to change himself. Thinking of happy things, his best memories... Anything to help himself. Finally, a voice came to him.

Blue, Red said. Calm down. It's alright. If you calm down, I'll take over and you can rest.

Blue closed his eyes and sniffled, doing his best to relax. The thought of retreating to the back of their mind and not having to deal with the fear and confusion of this new world helped him to settle down.

He looked down to see his skin changing color. Fading from baby blue to a normal humans healthy pink skin. He sighed in relief as he faded into the blissful corner of their mind.
