Tae's POV

MOVE, YOU IDIOT, I say to myself.

Move, move, move!

Trying to regain sense, I pick up my feet and try to casually follow them.

That's when another thought hits me.

What if Anna sees me? Shit.

I decide that it's worth the risk and continue strolling behind them.

Every step I take feels like I'm walking through a mine field. Like a bomb could explode anytime.

Except that it won't be bombs exploding.

It'll be Anna's heart that explodes from fury.

I'm through the entrance door.

My eyes automatically search for Anna. It's natural I guess.

I see her standing in the corner near the car racing simulators. For some reason, Joshua is walking away.

I get closer, trying to not look at her as I go.

Or it'd be pretty obvious.

I'm behind her now. She's still waiting for Joshua.

Oh, Joshua's getting the arcade entry coins.

"Tae? What're you doing here?"

As I shift my gaze from Joshua to Anna, I notice that she's looking at me.

Wait, shit. She's looking at me.

"Holy crap, Anna. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to follow you. I just wanted to get my mind off some things and ended up deciding that I should come here. I seriously didn't mean to. I'm so so so sorry. Please don't get angry at me."

"Angry?" She asks, sounding confused. "Why would I get angry at you for coming here? It's your choice."

"Oh, thank go-"

"Save it. I need you to come with me before Joshua notices."

"What???"

"Come here, quick. I need to talk to you."

Following her lead, we both end up hiding behind a vending machine out of Joshua's sight.

There, she bursts into tears.

"A-anna? Wh-why are you crying?" I frantically ask. I'm panicking.

"Anna, did something happen?"

She starts sobbing even harder.

"Anna, tell me- did anyone......harass you or something? 'Cause if they did, then they're in for a jaw-breaking confrontation."

She giggles a little but soon returns to her melancholy state.

"No, Tae. No one harassed me. It's just that...."

"What, Anna?!? I can't stand to see you like this."

"I always feel so self-conscious around him. It's like I'm trying so hard to be someone that I'm not when I'm around him."

"I feel like I need to live up to his standards or something." She continues.

"What do you mean standards? Did he tell you that you're not good enough?"

"No, no. I just- he's popular, okay? And, I feel like if I don't become popular, he'll never like me."

"You're beautiful just the way you are."

"No I'm not Tae. Look at me. My hair isn't as smooth or silky as the other girls at school. I don't have blue eyes like them. My weight is like 30 kilograms more than what they would consider average. And, just look at how I dress! There's nothing good abo-"

I grab her shoulders. That seems to catch her off guard.

Gently pressing her against the wall, I press my lips to hers.

When our lips connect, a new passion is born.

We move rhythmically, pushing against the other.

Damn, it's so hard to break apart from her. But I somehow manage to do it.

"Anna, you know what. Stuff Joshua. I love you. Not Joshua."

"Since when?" She asks gently.

"Since the day I looked into your eyes."

She smiles.

I smile back.
