As we walked down the sidewalk, I turned to face him.

“Jackson?”

“Yes princess?”

“I thought about it and I'm giving you a chance. I'll be your girlfriend, but can we take things slow?” I said.

His face lit up with happiness. “Of course princess! I'm really happy you're giving me a chance. I'll never ever hurt you.” He said spinning me around causing my crutches to fall.

He looked so happy after I told him that. All his excitement put a smile on my face.

“Wait. I have to do this properly.” He said.

He took me by the hands. “Saige Rose Jacobs. Would you do me the honor of being my girlfriend?!”

“Yes, of course.” I said hugging him.

Our eyes met once again. I could stare into his blue eyes all day. His soft lips pressed against mine. I felt sparks fly.

“Let's get you home princess.” He said kissing my forehead.

That night I could barely sleep. All I could think about is Jackson. We were finally together, and it felt so right. I closed my eyes and went to sleep.

The sound of my room door opening made me open my eyes.

“Bae, wake up!” Jackson said.

“Ugh, five more minutes.” I mumbled.

"No. It's already twelve thirty." He said with a slight laugh.

Dang. I seriously needed to stop sleeping in so late. I sat up not caring what I looked like at the moment.

“Get dressed.” Jackson said.

“Why?” I asked.

“Because school is starting in like two months. We need to do our shopping ahead of time.”

The word shopping instantly got my attention. I loved to go shopping. I quickly jumped in the shower. After my steaming hot shower, I got dressed.

Jackson was sitting on my bed waiting. When I came out, his eyes lit up.

“Wow, there's my gorgeous princess.” He said kissing my hand.

I couldn't help but blush. This boy had won me over.

“Aww thanks bae.” I smiled.

The car ride to the mall was quite fun. Jackson kept singing practically every song that came on the radio. I couldn't help but laugh at his awful singing. We had finally arrived.

“Where shall we go first?”

“Anywhere you want.” He said.

We spent a couple hours doing clothes shopping. It was because of me being picky. But I liked that Jackson was patience. He didn't mind me being picky.

We finally sat down at a little table next to a Starbucks kiosk.

“What would you like?” Jackson asked.

“A vanilla caramel frappé.” I said.
Those were my absolute favorite. I could drink them all the time.

“I'll be right back princess.” He walked to the counter to order.

“Saige?!” The familiar voice called out.

I looked up. It was my no good cheating ex boyfriend from two years ago. Luke Mitchell. I put my head back down avoiding him. He just kept coming closer and closer.

“Hey Saige. What's it been, like two years?”

“Oh hi Luke.” I said rolling my eyes.

I didn't hold a grudge on Luke for what he did. I decided to forgive him and move on. Holding grudges doesn't get a person anywhere. Even though I forgave him, I wasn't fond of seeing him again.

“You here alone?” Luke asked.

“That's none of your concern. What are you even going here? I thought you moved to Tampa.”

“I'm visiting my grandma.”

“Oh OK. You can go now.” I said annoyed.

“Why? Can't a guy reconnect with his ex girlfriend? You look really nice by the way.” He said.

“No. I'm not interested in talking to you.”

“You forgave me didn't you? Let's put the past behind us.” He put his hand on top of mine which made me feel uncomfortable.

I pulled my hand away. “Don't touch me.”

“Calm down. You act like I'm going to do something to you.”

“Well, I just don't trust you.” I said.

“I know what I did was wrong and I really regret it. Maybe if I wasn't so stupid, you would still be mine.” He put his hand on mine again.

Who does he think he is? No way I was getting back with him.

“Stop.” I pulled away again.

“Come on sweetheart, don't be like that.” I smirked.

“Excuse me. And you are?” Jackson said.

“Jackson this is Luke. This is my ex boyfriend. He was just leaving.” I said.

“No I wasn't.” He protested.

“I believe she wants you to leave. So just leave man. Don't want any trouble now do you?” Jackson said raising an eyebrow.

Luke got up and mumbled something under his breath. He just walked away. Anger had shown on his face.

“You okay princess? Did he try anything?” Jackson said concerned.

“No. I'm fine.” I sighed

“Good. He'll have to go through me before he lays a hand on you!”

I felt uneasy until Jackson came. He made me feel safe no matter what. I was glad to be his.
