Ruby and I had been best friends ever since we were twelve years old. We'd done everything together - literally. Although we had completely different personalities, we'd become friends because of one guy, Chris Brown. We'd been part of Team Breezy from the beginning and we both absolutely adored him to death. We were both so obsessed with him; we were constantly stalking him on all his social networks. So when we found out he was going be making a guest appearance at a club in our area, we went absolutely crazy.

"OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD!" I screamed. "IS THIS FOR FUCKING REAL?!"

Ruby was sat in my computer chair, crying into one of her sleeves. She couldn't even speak.

"We have got to clear our diaries for next weekend. He's gonna be here on Saturday, so we'll have to miss Tania's 18th," I talked through my thoughts out loud. "Oh my God, we definitely need to go buy dresses and heels! Next weekend is only two days away."

Ruby still couldn't speak. I grabbed her by the hand, pulling her off the chair and out of my bedroom. We walked out of the house and into my car. The drive to the mall was a short one but it dragged because Ruby couldn't say a single word. She finally spoke when I had parked the car.

"Do you think he'd fuck me?" she asked me, looking into the mirror.

I sighed. "Any man would be privileged if they fucked you. Of course he would."

"You really think so?"

I felt bad; I was lying to her. I knew Chris wouldn't go for her. "Yeah, sure. I mean, why wouldn't he?"

Ruby didn't reply. We both climbed out of the car and walked into the mall. It was a quite a big mall; it contained various small boutiques and common chain stores.

"Wow, that dress be mine," Ruby said as we walked past one of the shop windows. "Let's go in here."

I followed her into the store. She had already found the dress in a different colour and rushed over to the counter to ask the lady for a larger size. I decided to browse the rails for something for myself.

"Gloria," I heard a man's voice say from the door. I turned around abruptly; I knew exactly who it was. I suddenly couldn't move. I tried to say something but my lips wouldn't move and instead a muffle came out. Chris glanced at me before walking over to the counter. Ruby was unable to say anything either.

He was wearing a red Black Pyramid top, black three quarter-ish shorts, a black snapback and some Nikes. He somehow looked a little bit different in the flesh - you could definitely see his cute freckles more - and he seemed more reserved.

"Christopher," the lady at the counter, who I assumed was Gloria, smiled. "Nice to see you again. It been a good two years, right?"

"Something like that," he muttered. He pointed towards me. "Nice keychain, by the way. You like my music?"

I looked at where he was pointing. Oh. I forgot that I had that Chris Brown keychain on my bag. Luckily, I managed to mumble at least one word. "Yeah."

Chris lifted his pointing finger away, his eyes fixed on mine. I felt the mutual attraction between us. It was electrifying and like nothing I had ever experienced before.

"I do too," Ruby said, ruining the moment. "I, I mean we, me and Kerry, we been Team Breezy since the beginning, since we were, we were, were kids."

"Really? Do you ladies want a picture taking with me? Or autographs? I gotta go real soon," Chris grinned, licking his lips. His eyes moved over to my direction again before turning his attention to the floor. He was starting to become what seemed to me as embarrassed.

"Here, would you mind taking a picture of us?" Ruby said to Gloria, handing her her phone.

Gloria took Ruby's phone. "OK. Don't forget to smile, y'all!"

Chris came towards me, putting his arm around my shoulder. His touch sent a frenzy of goosebumps over my entire body. Ruby strolled over to where we were stood and Chris put his other arm around her.

"Now, smile!" Gloria laughed. She took one single picture and then looked at it. "I'll take a few more, fo' good luck."

Gloria took a few more shots. I could feel Chris' fingers on my shoulder, gripping tighter.

Chris then let go of me and walked forwards. "It's been nice seeing you again, Gloria, even if it was brief. And it was good meeting you two ladies. I better be going, though."

He smiled at me and I couldn't help smiling back. He opened his mouth to speak again. "What were your names, by the way?"

"I'm Ruby. She's Kerry," Ruby said before I had the chance to.

Chris didn't look at Ruby as she talked; he was smiling and looking at me. He then addressed me. "Will you two be going to the party at the weekend, Kerry? You heard about it yet?"

"I saw it on your Twitter, yeah," I spoke softly. I couldn't actually believe that I was talking to the real Chris Brown; it was the most surrealist moment of my entire life. "We'll be there."

"I'll see you around then," he smirked. He didn't walk out of the store straight away, instead lingering for a few seconds. He appeared to slightly shake his head and then he walked out of the door, turning left back into the car pack.

"WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED THERE?" Ruby screamed once he had gone. "Am I high? Did y'all just see that? Did that really happen?"

I sighed. "Yes, Ruby, it really happened."

"He liked me, didn't he? I could so tell, y'know?" she had lowered the volume of her voice now and she was not far away from whispering.

I was about to respond when Gloria responded for me. "No, that boy had eyes only fo', fo'..." she paused, trying to recall my name, "um, Kerry. Yeah, Kerry. He be tryna win your heart at that party, I'mma tell you now."

"But he's not single. The whole thing with Karrueche and Rihanna is still going on and they are both stunning; I am nowhere near their league," I said.

"Girl, Kerry, my girl, that is bullshit. You beautiful, girl. Regardless, it ain't about looks anyways. All that matters is what's inside, 'right?" Gloria stepped away from the counter and came closer to me. "You know how I know him? He my ex. We be dating back when his fame be blowing up back when he were a sixteen year old nigga. 'n' you know somethang? I really were not beautiful on the outside. I be loving those burgers too much back then 'n' I be looking like a fucking beach whale then. But that boy, Christopher, he just loved me for me. We only finished 'cos of his new found fame, otherwise he may have not ever gotten with Rihanna and Karrueche. So I'mma tell you now, that boy does not go purely on looks."

"OK, well thanks for everything," I said, "but we should really go now."

Ruby rudely snatched her phone from Gloria and stormed out of the shop.
