Not A Cliché Love Story

Part 15

When they arrived at the hospital Alex rushed to the front desk to ask what room they were in.

"Could you tell me the room of Elizabeth and Mark Redmond?"he asked

"Room 103. Are you their son and daughter?"the lady replied

"I'm their son and she's my girlfriend."he answered

"Okay well go right in."

When they found the room and entered they found both of his parents lying in a bed with life support. Alex was scared for his life he's scared he could lose his parents he doesn't know what he would do if he did.

Apparently Gabby could read his facial expressions because she finally spoke up.

"Everything will be alright. They're gonna be okay."she said softly

"How do you know that? What if they don't come back what if they don't make it? You don't know what could happen they could die for all we know."he replied

"Because I have hope in the fact that they will make it because you need them and your sister needs them. And I'm pretty sure they want to meet their future daughter-in-law."

"I'm sorry I blew up like that."

"It's fine. You're having trouble and you're in a bad situation. I understand."Gabby said calmly

"Thanks for understanding. And I'm pretty sure they do want to meet you."

Once Alex was calm they waked over to his parents beds and just sat there. Gabby listened to him talk to his parents even though he knew they couldn't answer he knew they were listening.

He was sitting holding his mom's hand and he was talking about them meeting Gabby when his mom squeezed his hand.

"Oh my gosh she just squeezed my hand. I think she's waking up!"Alex exclaimed

"Oh my gosh! I'll got get a nurse and tell them."she said while walking out the door

When Gabby returned with a nurse Alex was talking to his mom and her eyes were open and her full attention was on him and their conversation.

The door squeaked and her eyes turned to the door and she studied Gabby. The nurse looked at her and saw that Alex's mom looked good so she checked her IV and blood pressure and her heart rate and then left.

"So you must be Gabby. I've heard so much about you."Mrs.Redmond said

"Yes I am. And I'm hoping they were all good things. Coming from Alex you never know"Gabby joked

"Haha"she laughed"Yes they were. He has described you to me and told me how you encouraged him and told him everything would be alright with his dad and I. And I thank you for that because I'm glad that he is finally happy and having a good time since what happened at his old school."

"What happened at his old school?"

"Oh honey you haven't told her?"she asked Alex

"No not yet I'm still kind of embarrassed by it because everyone sees me as this tough guy who looks emo."he answered

"Told me what?"Gabby asked again

"He was...would you like to finish?"his mom said quietly

"I was bullied at my old school. I was the smallest sophomore at my school. I looked weird and for that and my smartness people picked on me, pushed me around, and called me names. There was nothing I could do about it. Even when I told teachers they thought it was a joke because my freshman year u was the schools biggest prankster and everyone loved me and then I changed."he said trying not to cry

"I'm so so sorry."Gabby said with tears in her eyes

"Sometimes he came home with bruises on his legs and arms and black eyes. He told us that he had just fallen down the stairs but one day his closest friend told us that he was hiding in the woods and he told us the full story of the bullies and we went up there and had a conference with the principal."his mom said on the verge of tears

"Don't cry please."he begged

"It's a little too late."Gabby said tears streaming down her face while trying to dry them

Alex took her and hugged her close. Her tears stained his shirt but he didn't care and his mom was crying on his sleeve although the she had heard the story millions of times. He was in the verge of crying now because two of the most important people in his life were upset.

Once Gabby and his mom stopped crying he tried to cheer them up by making a few jokes some of them were lame and stupid but they laughed at them. He was glad they were cheered up. But his dad still hadn't woke up yet but he still had hope that he would wake up.
