We finally arrived at my house and I eased my Jeep into the driveway. Izzy pulled up behind me. I shut off the car and climbed out. I let Demon out and grabbed out stuff out of the back. I walked up to the front door and unlocked it. Izzy raced inside and started breathing heavily. “It’s okay, we’re safe now.” I tried to comfort her.
“Are you sure? What if that thing follows me?!” She almost screamed.
“It won’t follow you. Demons are usually attached to locations and things, not people. Do you know if your house has any bad history? Did any deaths happen there?” I asked, trying to figure out why that demon was there.
“Well my realtor did say that the house was once a civil war hospital.” She recalled.
“That’s probably it, a lot of deaths occurred and there were probably some that didn’t know they died. So they became angry.”
“Are you sure? How do you know so much about this stuff?” She wondered. “Once I became older and understood what I could do, I started researching. I found out a lot about demons and spirits. It has helped me deal with my ability. Also watching GA (Ghost Adventures) helped a lot too. That’s why I love that show so much. What they do helps a lot of people and spirits. It also proves to skeptics that the afterlife does exist and it makes me feel like I’m not going crazy.” I explained.
“Okay… I still can’t believe my best friend can talk to the dead and didn’t tell me.” She laughed.
“Yeah, well I thought you would think I was weird or crazy or something like that… I just didn’t want to lose you because you were scared of me, or didn’t want to be friends with a psycho.” I laughed nervously.
“Hey, I would never think that. I’m actually really glad you told me. It makes me feel like you can trust me with your biggest secrets.” She smiled at me.
“Thank you so much Izzy. I’m really blessed to have a friend like you.” I pulled her into a hug. She laughed. “Oh, while were on the subject of ghosts, there’s someone I would like you to meet. Summer!” I called out, I knew she was nearby somewhere.
“Who’s Summer?” Izzy asked.
“Hang on, Summer are you here?” I asked again.
“Yes Amaryllis, I’m here.” She appeared three feet in front of me.
“What was that?! Did you here that, Ama?” Izzy jumped.
“Yes, it was Summer.” I smiled in Summers direction.
“I’m assuming Summer is a ghost?” She finally put it together.
“Dur, she’s been here since I first moved in.” I said.
“Who’s this?” Summer asked, appearing right behind Izzy.
“Summer, this is my best friend Izzy.” I introduced her.
“Hello Summer, nice to meet you?” Izzy said.
“You too, Izzy. Amaryllis talks about you a lot. You two must be really close.” Summer said.
“I don’t know where you’re standing… I can’t see ghosts.” Izzy looked around the room. Summer laughed and moved to the front of her.
