I stare blankly at the TV screen watching the District 9 reaping. "Aryana Grain!" calls the escort. someone next to her whispers something in her ear, but all she does is walk up to the stage with shock covering her face. she has straight brown hair, light skin and hazel eyes. just like me when i was young. i feel very sorry for all the tributes i train. i don't show it, but i don't like my job. not one bit. the escort then puts her hand in the glass bowl with the boys names in it and grabs a single slip of paper. "Ryan Dawn!' calls the escort woman. the camera turns to a young boy in the 12 year old section. the blood drains from his face. just as he's about to come up, a boy from the 18 year old section yells at the top of his lungs. "i volunteer!" calls the boy. he walks up to the stage to take the boy's place. he reveals that his name is Caleb Dawn and that he is 18 years old. i can see the pained expression on his face that he is trying to hold back. i look down from the screen.
