I stared at the faces below, waiting to hear a song from me. I knew what I was going to sing. But I was so nervous...

Come on, Diana.... 

My brain hissed at me. I gulped and took a deep breath. Nodding to the band members, I immersed myself in the beats of the music.

I got a bottle of whatever, but it’s getting us drunk

I ignored my surroundings and belted the lyrics out like my life depended on it. Swearing was never my favourite thing and I avoided it, but in this song, it felt perfect. When I finished, not a sound could be heard. Everybody gaped at me with shock on their faces. Uncertainty and worry gnawed at me. Had I just sang so terribly and embarrassed myself?

"I'm not perfect, I know. That was 'Here's To Never Growing Up' by Avril Lavigne. I'm not sure whether you liked it-" I began nervously but a voice from the crowd interrupted me.

"No. We didn't like it." 

My heart sank and I felt tears prickling at my eyes. But the guy wasn't done yet.

"WE LOVED IT!"

And as if a switch was flipped, the crowd roared. I flinched at first. But I realized they weren't jeering me. They were cheering...

For me...

And that was when I knew that no matter what you believe, you won't know anything unless you experience it.

I grinned and waved to the screaming crowd. Just as I was about to turn away in my delirious state of new-found euphoria, I heard a loud voice calling out. Cecilia's voice. I froze when I heard what she said.

"OH MY GOD! YOU DID COME! I LOVE YOU, HARRY STYLES!"
