She came to his game as promised.
To say he was good would be
an
understatement.
His team won, as everybody
had anticipated.
She went over
to congratulate him.
"Hey, nice game."
"Thanks."
He smiled,
as he was always smiling.
"Hey, uh...
I think they're throwing a party for our team.
Do you want to go?"
"Um...
parties and I
don't really mix..."
"That's alright.
I'll take you out instead.
Sound good?"
She looked at him then
and he was still smiling.
"You should just
go to the party.
It is in your honour."
He pouted,
and damn, he was so cute.
"Only if you are going."
"...fine,"
she sighed.
He grinned at her,
flashing his teeth at her.
And just then,
he was happy,
and she was happy,
and that was enough for now.
