I felt myself being pulled down like a weight was pulling me down. I was slammed onto the ground. I gasped in as much air as I possibly could. I began to cough uncontrollably, scratching at my neck because it felt like something was in the way for me to breath. My heart was beating out of control like I just ran a marathon or something of such source.

I opened my eyes. That was when everything in my brain. I died for, who knows how long, but I did. Pain radiated from my head to my toes. I felt something cold and liquidly on my back. I couldn't move. If I did I knew for sure that the pain would rush in ten times worst.

I looked around my surroundings and saw that I was laying on the other side of the train tracks. I was glad the gangsters didn't shoot at me more just to reassure themselves that I was in fact dead or then I would be dead for sure.

The rest of that day and night I laid on that same floor without moving until the next morning.

As the sun began to rise I got up on both of my feet. I couldn't go to sleep that night and I don't know anyone who would. If there was they are a legend because I passed out more times last night then my whole life of existence.

I began my walk towards school with my jacket on because I knew for a fact that my back must be covered in dry blood and maybe some new fresh blood began to trickle down my spine with all the pressure I was putting on it.

And before you begin to call me crazy for going to school with what just happened to me, let me just say, I'm going for a completely different reason other people go there for.

School was like a place for me to organize myself up again before going back into the wild. School had everything I needed. It had a shower, a toilet, food, and a washer. Oh and did I forget to mention they have beds in the nurses office.

Anyways, I was going to start my walk towards Dayton High because with the way I was walking I was going to take some time to get there. I probably get there by the time school is over.

I went straight to the girl's locker room once I arrived at Dayton, which was empty. I striped out of my bloody clothes as I waited for the water in the shower to warm up. After I finished, I put my clean clothes I washed just yesterday on, well just my undergarments and pants. I didn't want to dirty my clean shirt with fresh blood so I went to look for a first aid kit in the coach's office. I tried my best to clean my wound and let me tell you, it didn't come out half as bad as I suspected. It was enough to keep the blood from spilling at least, however I wasn't able to take out the bullet so every time I moved my back would radiate with pain. So you'll imagine how my face looked of one full of pain and my slow movement and limpness.

I slipped on my shirt and went on my way to the cafeteria where I was sure they had food prepared for tomorrow's breakfast.

As I was making my way, I threw my previous clothes into a trash bin making sure to cover it by putting trash above it.

Click clack, click clack.

Footsteps sounded behind me before a voice yelled out to me.

"Hey, you. Girl," a girl shouted.

I stopped in my tracks. What is she doing in school still? I wondered as the girl walked over towards me.

"Hey, I was talking to you. Didn't you hear me?" The girl looked angry as she placed a hand on her hip while leaning on one leg. "What are you doing out of class. If you don't want me to report you, you better get going now."

I just stared at her with a blank expression.

"Look. I'm giving you a warning right now. I'm the schools hall monitor and let me tell you, it was not by choice," she said as she rolled her eyes as she tossed her curly blonde with brown highlights behind her shoulder. "So go because I don't feel like advising the office."

I just nodded my head in response as I tried my best to walk toward my last class I was supposed to be in. I didn't want to cause a scene so I took in the pain that came with acting like I didn't have a bullet on my back.

I paused before taking a deep breath and entering the class room since I notice the girl following me, making sure I kept up my part so she wouldn't get into trouble.

No one turned to look at me. Instead I was met with people chatting with each other and the teacher helping a couple of the students.

I began making my way to the back of the classroom looking for an empty seat to sit at. I struggled to keep a straight face on. Before I was able to spot a seat I spotted Jeremy. He automatically looked up at me before I was able to look away.

"Hey, Sydney," Jeremy shouted shooting me a smirk as he wave me over to him.

I don't know what he was thinking when he called me over but since I wasn't' able to spot an empty seat, I walked over to him. Plus, he was the only person I had now. Actually, I mean he's the connection to the last people I have in my life, his aunt and uncle.

I took in a deep breath before taking a step over towards him and his group of friends that he was hanging out with.

However, as I made my way over him I started to feel weird. My steps began to get sluggish, my head pounded, my body started swaying side to side, my breath began to get heavy, and my vison started to get blotchy.

I shook my head trying to shake it off.

I just need a couple more steps to get to Jeremy. I'm almost there. I could make it. I will make it.
