She believed
That she could trust anyone
So she told someone very special to her
A truth
That special person
Didn't quite accept it as she hoped
They looked at her differently
They asked her strange questions
They asked her if she was sick
Their bond
Broken and faded away
The girl
Ashamed and betrayed
Nodded and smiled
Said she was fine
Even when inside
She was screaming
She soon went and ran
Hoping to outrun her mistake
Finally, she sat and cried
Regret and betrayal
Filled her heart
She wished
She could go back in time
Rewrite it all
Another girl
Exactly the same as her
Hugged her and let her cry
When the girl finished
She whispered to the sad girl
"This means something"
"You can't trust them"
"Not even them"
"All that reassurance from them"
"Is little lies"
"Nobody is completely honest"
"Keep it to yourself and no one gets hurt"
The girl simply nodded
Tears threatening to fall again
The world around her changed
She became closed and cold
She wouldn't trust anyone
With the truth or with a lie
She wouldn't trust
Not now
Or ever again
Her fantasy land
Crumbled and ruined
Into pieces
Never to be a happy place again
