HER ONE AND ONLY

CHAPTER 27

His heart clenched with pain and he gritted his teeth. He was torn away into shreds. She had preserved him all these years. From the beginning. No one had loved him like her. No one. . .

"Alexander?"

He was brought back from his painful state when he heard her voice.

She walked towards him and Alexander turned towards her with the box in his hand.

Rose dropped her eyes downwards towards his hand and gasped at the sight. She was shocked and her heart started bearing rapidly now that she had been caught He wasn't supposed to see any of those.

She immediately walked towards him and pulled away the box from his hand and closed it.

She couldn't look at him. She was so in love with him all those years back, or rather obsessed with him that she had kept whatever she could take that belonged to him.

He walked closer to her and slightly bent down towards her ear.

"Can you keep me in the box too?" He whispered and slowly trailed his fingers on the exposed skin of her right arm.

Rose shivered and bit down her bottom lip to control her wildly beating heart because of his close proximity and his magical fingers.

She gulped and closed her eyes as a small smile crept on her face.

"I've already kept you in me." She whispered and turned towards him.

He stiffened at what she said and brought himself closer to her. He took the box from her hand and kept it on the table. He held her waist and rested his head on her shoulder after placing a soft kiss on her neck.

She sucked in her lips and slowly brought her hands to rest them on his shoulder and his neck. She drew small invisible circles on his neck that made his heart beat wildly and he hugged her tight, plastering his body onto hers.

"I want you to tell me something you want Rose. Anything. I want you to tell me. I . .I have been such a pathetic person all throught life. I never knew that someone could love me to this extent." He said and turned his face towards her neck. He rested his face on the crook of her neck and eyed her smooth soft skin. His lips were moving against the sensitive skin on her neck when he started speaking again and Rose found it really hard to concentrate.

"I am sorry for everything. Help me set things right." He said and kissed her neck once again, making her squeeze his shoulders tighter. Her small cute Alexander who used to give bear hugs, was now a handsome well built man seducing her and making her brain into mush. Even his touch set her whole body on fire. She loved him. She loved him so much that she was ready to risk her heart once again. She somehow knew, that this time, he risked his heart for her too. He wanted her the same way she had wanted him.

He took a long deep breath, inhaling her sweet scent and smiled on her neck after placing another kiss there. He just wanted to take her. Take her then and there.

"Tell me Rose. What do you want.? I know that nothing can wipe away the pain I caused you. But tell this for me. I want to do something for you."

She slid her fingers into his thick soft hair and smiled.

"I just want you Alex. Have always wanted and will always want you."

"You already have me, love. All of me."

"Then there is nothing that I. ."

"Please."

She sighed and thought about everything for a minute.

"Would you do anything for me.?" She asked slowly, her voice sounding uncertain.

"I would close my eyes and do it."

"I want. . .I want us to go back home,to California." She whispered and closed her eyes.

He straightened himself and looked into her eyes with his hands still on her waist.

"You know that I am still. . ."

"Yes."she said cutting him before he could complete his words.

"I know that your life is different from mine. I know your a criminal." She said and looked into those deep depths of his eyes. Those eyes that she had always loved.

"That is why I want us to go there. I . .I want you to leave all of this behind once and for all. I want us to go back to our lives just like the way it was all those years back." She brought her hands to his face and cupped his cheek.

"I know nothing would ever be the same. I know nothing would be normal. But I have you Alexander. I would never change any moment that I spend with you no matter what."

He brought his hand to her shoulders and gripped them tightly.

"Rose, I cannot leave this behind. It's not easy to come out of a life that I've been living since. . ."

"Will you leave it if I can bring you out of it.?" She asked looking at him.

When she did not get an answer from him, she pulled away and brought distance between them.

"I will think about it Rose." He said and came near her once again. But she moved back again creating space in between them.

"I don't want to fear about your life being in danger. I want you to be safe. If something happens to you. . .I just. . I don't think I will be alive after that."

"Don't say that." He said and came closer to her, cupping her cheeks and rested his forehead on hers.

"I want us to start fresh. Away from all this danger."

He opened his eyes and looked at her for a few seconds.

"I will think about this. "

She nodded her head and smiled at him hoping that he would change his mind soon.
