Spain smiles all the time to hide the pain and guilt he feels. He can hardly stand to look the other nations in the eye because everytime he does, he is reminded of the merciless and satanic actions he did towards them and their citizens, especially America and Canada. He was one of the people who helped murder their mother Native America, after all.
