Theodora Embry tried to think of something, anything, that could accurately describe the soul inside of her.
Finally, she got it. "I want to be come a sprinkle of glitter."
Paul McCartney squinted his eyes up at the peculiar being above him. "Are you high?"
Giggling and shrugging (she wasn't sure anymore), the girl ruffled his hair before referencing the portable record player he'd brought with them on this escapade. "Turn it up. I love the Grateful Dead."
Stifling a chuckle, he did as she said. Not wanting her to live her entire life without knowing the truth, Paul corrected her.
"Um, Theo, this is the Eagles."
"Whatever. I'm a sprinkle of glitter, remember?"
Resting back on the damp ground, Paul counted the blue creases in between the clouds and wished for the sun to make an appearance in the sky.
"Alright, love. You can be whatever you want."
She almost said it, but killed the thought before it reached her lips.
I want to be yours, she almost said.
'Almost' being the key word in that sentence.
