I didn’t really know where I was going. Nor did I care. I just wanted to get away.

After walking for at least a half hour, I gave up and sat on a random staircase.

I hit my head on the wall and tried not to cry at the thought of the past event.

Why does bad stuff always happen to me!?

It was getting really annoying that every time I turn around, something bad happens.

This was only my second day being here and I seemed to hate it more than yesterday.

I felt someone grab me and I screamed.

“Shhh! Are you trying to wake the dead?”

I should have known it was Kyler.

Who else lives here? That and Kody and Alex left and haven’t come back so there was only one person it could be. I don’t know why I wasn’t understanding that.

Kyler released me and just sat next to me.

“Are you going to be okay?” he asked.

I looked at him for a second before looking away and nodding.

“I really am sorry for biting you. I don’t know what came over me.”

“Can we just… drop the subject?” I asked, starting to get annoyed.

Kyler nodded.

“What do you wanna do today?”

I shrugged.

“Kody’s coming over later.”

“What about Alex?”

“He had to go back to Boarding School.”

“Oh.” I said feeling like an idiot.

“You said you played guitar?”

“Yeah.”

“Kody plays too. Maybe we can hang in the music room?”

I shrugged.

Kyler helped me stand and then picked me up bridle style.

“What are you doing?” I asked him as he smiled mischievously at me.

“Don’t worry. Just close your eyes.”

I gave him a worried and confused look.

“Just do it.”

I rolled my eyes and did as told, closing my eyes.

A breeze surrounded us and two seconds later I was set on my feet.

We were in a music room.

There were electric guitars everywhere, two pianos, two drum sets, everything you can imagine!

“Here.” Kyler said handing me a scarf.

“When’d you get this?”

“On the way here.” he said wrapping it around my neck, covering the gauze.

“Why do I need a scarf?”

“Because. If Kody saw that I bit you, he’d flip. He’s just weird like that and I don’t feel like him yelling at me.”

“Oh.” I said feeling like an idiot.

Then I saw it and my jaw dropped.

“What?” Kyler asked following my gaze.

“Is that what I think it is?” I asked walking over to one of the electric guitars.

“Depends on what you think it is.”

I picked up the guitar and put it on after plugging it into an amp.

“It’s a Warlock.”

“Uh… sure. I actually don’t know what any of these guitars are. Kody tried explaining it to me once but I didn’t pay attention.”

I shook my head and smiled.

“Imagine that.” I mumbled, taking one of the picks from on top of one of the pianos.

I plucked each string and smiled. I missed playing guitar.

The door opened and Kody walked in holding a coffin shaped guitar case.

I had the same case, only my case was black and his was grey.

“You’re actually letting her use a guitar like that? Do you know how much those things cost?” Kody asked shocked, not ment to be heard by me.

“Hey! I take full offence to that!”

“Just saying. Those things cost a lot.”

“No duh. I don’t intend on breaking a $3,000 guitar, Moron.”

“I wouldn’t care if you broke it anyways. It’s just a guitar. That and I’ve got nine others. I don’t even know why I have a music room. I cant play anything.”

“How long did you say you’ve been playing guitar?”

“Since I was five.”

Kody put the guitar strap over his head.

“I’m going to test you. Kyler, you’re the judge.”

“No. I don’t wanna be the judge. Because you’ll get mad if I choose Avery for the winner.”

“No I wont. I just wanna see who’s better.” he said looking at me.

Kody looked at Kyler.

“I know you’ll pick her anyways just so you’ll have a better chance of getting laid.” Kody mumbled to Kyler.

Too bad I heard him.

“I heard that.”

“You weren’t ment to.” Kody said looking back at me, almost glaring.

I rolled my eyes.

“Can we just get this over with?”

“Why? So you can get losing over with?”

I rolled my eyes again and the contest started.

I ended up beating him by a long shot. Hell, I even shocked him and he was playing really well.

“Where’d you learn to play like that?”

“Hours and hours a day of practicing. My mom said if I wanted to learn to play, I’d have to practice four hours a day. I played till my fingers bled.”

“Now that’s harsh.”

I nodded and set the guitar back on it’s stand.

Kody looked at his phone for the time.

“I better be going. See ya later, dude.” he said putting his guitar in it’s case and walking off.

Kyler looked at me.

I was in his arms in less than a second, his lips pressed to mine.
