going home

Ever since the encounter with the hunters we've been staying in wolf form and running constantly. But it's not like I'm complaining or anything. I love running and being in my wolf form. I really needed to stretch out my inner wolf more. It's been a couple of weeks since I've been in my human form. I've just been following Jacob and letting him come to his senses on his own. But I don't think he's notice that we've been heading in the direction of home.

I have noticed that we were heading towards home, babe. Jake thought to me. Sorry, I thought hastily.

It's okay. Jake replied to me. I mentally rolled my eyes at him but kept up my speed.

So you've been thinking about heading back, Jake?

Well we do need to get married in the states. But seeing as how you won't marry me until we finish high school. So seeing those bumps I need to get us on track. Because I will have you as my wife.

Jake, I whined thought. Embarrassed at the prospect of being Jake's wife within a year or two.

Why would you be embarrassed?

I never really associated myself with the prospect of being married at such a young age.

So it's not me?

It's not you, I assured.

Good, he thought happily.

We ran on in silence then, just letting our minds wander. We had to stop real quick though.

Jake phased back into human, confused I phased too and hurridly put my clothes back on. "Jake what are you doing?" Woah, this is a weird feeling. I haven't been in my human form for a while, now. I've been so used to the feeling of walking on four paws and barking.

"I need a hair cut and Bella's wedding is in a couple days time." Jake sighed and jogged towards a house that was in the woods. "Are we close to civilization?" I asked him.

"Yeah, I say about three miles out."

"Well we best be careful," I warned as I walked behind him.

"I know, now come on I need a haircut." Jake extended his hand out to grab mine. "You know this feels weird?"

"I thought I was the only one to think that," Jake laughed and I laughed with him. "How far are we away from home?" I asked quietly.

"Roughly a hundred miles out," Jake answered just as quietly. "Looks like we really got to book it. No dilly dallying, okay?" I looked up at him and he looked back at me. Before I knew it he kissed me. "You don't know how long I wanted to do that," Jake smiled. "A long time?"

"A long time," he answered.

"Can you hear anyone in the house?" I asked.

"No, come on," Jake said and jogged towards the house. "Jake wait," I whispered frantically. "Calm down, Sammy." Jake made lowering motions with his hands. I harrumphed and stalked after him with my arms crossed and an angry facial expression on my face. Jake just smiled at me and walked ahead. "Stay out here I'm gonna try and find some scissors." Jake said and pointed for me to wait where I stood.

I panicked for a second when I saw him go into the house through the window, but relaxed when I heard his heartbeat beat loud and true and unaffected by anything. He came back through the same window and jogged towards me. "You gotta take a deep breath, Sammy. I could hear your heartbeat all the way inside the house."

"Don't you tell me to take a deep breath if we are in the middle of nowhere and you going inside peoples houses." I snapped back at him and stalked towards the forest where I felt safer.
