Chapter 26- Two In A Million

I swallowed the lump forming in the back of my throat.

"Hi, "he said with the cutest half smile I've ever seen. I swear he's going to be the death of me.

I started rubbing my hands together in a way to ease my uncomfortable encounter," Look Brett ", I sighed," it's okay your a grown man now and I'm not your girlfriend anymore so you don't have to explain yourself to me. "
I pushed pass Brett and entered the elevator. He entered after me shortly. He grasped my hand and I was taken aback.

" Yes I'm a grown man and I don't have to explain myself to you. And yes your not my girlfriend, but I want you to be again. By the way I can't remember us breaking up at any point in time. "

" How could you, Brett! Such a greedy man. Suzanne is such a nice woman. I will not cheat with you... "

He shhhed my lips," She not my girlfriend Serena! "

" Whaaat?! "

" You didn't let me finish my sentence yesterday. "

" Oh, "realization dawned in.
" Brett I was so afraid of losing you I.. I.. though that you were going to say... "

He got down on one knee and took my left hand in his. Oh my God! I feel the tears coming. He ruffled around in his pocket and pulled out a small maroon coloured box. I couldn't help the tears.
" Serena, will you make me the happiest man alive by marrying me. Will you marry me? "

" Yes! " he put the ring on and stand up again. I hugged him and whispered," No, we're two in a million Brett. "
He kissed my forehead.
" We forgot to press the elevator Brett, "

He chuckled and pressed the button to go down to the lobby.

The doors opened and I met an angry Lindsay." What the hell took you so long... Wait whoa! "

I ran and hugged Lindsay," I'm getting married!, "and showed her the ring.

" What?!... But you said, " Lindsay was puzzled.

" Turns out she's not his girlfriend! "I shouted then abruptly covered my mouth.

" I'm gonna be a maid of honour! "Lindsay ran through the lobby doors screaming.

I turned to Brett and he approached me and hugged me. I held his face in my hands and looked into his eyes. I kissed him shortly, " There's something about you. "
