Chapter 19 ( Hell Breaks Loose )

"Hey Linds!" I squealed as Lindsey opened her front door.

"Hey boo! "and I was pulled into one of her bone crushing hugs." Huh... Are those hickies? "her eyes widened.
" You noticed them? "I said touching one of the red marks.

" Who wouldn't? They're like bright red and glowing. " she pulled me into the house and closed the door." So Brett and you finally hit it off or what? "

" No, he just gave me these as punishment for avoiding him. "

" Brett is so dominant that it makes me sick! " she rolled her eyes." Look what that ass did to your beautiful and flawless skin. "

I held down my head and started brushing my arm nervously." He's not controlling or dominant. "

" Yea right! "

" Oh come on Linds, he's sweet, funny, smart and really passionate. He cares about me."

"Oh good for you. " Lindsey turned around and proceeded in walking up the stairs. I felt hurt by Lindsey's comment. I followed behind her. She turned and looked at me," I'm sorry Serena. It's just that you have a nice guy and all my boyfriends were terrible. I've thrown love through the window. Right now I'm sticking with one night stands and partying. I wish I was like you. " Tears were falling from her eyes.

I reached out and wiped them." I wish I was like you Linds. Your life is fun. You're outspoken and rough. You can stand up for yourself, but I'm so weak and vulnerable. People are going to take advantage of me. "

" I don't have a mom for f*@k's sake! Serena how can you even say that you wish you were me. All my mom does is work, party and have one night stands with random guys. I'm becoming just like her. People call me slut and boys think I'm rough and vulgar. " she pushed her room door open and sat on the bed.
" At least your mom cares! You're pretty, soft and sweet. Nice guys want you, but you reject them. Why do you think Brett rejected me? Because he's nice and I'm terrible. I'm totally jealous of you. "

I didn't want Lindsey to feel pathetic. She was right. Her life was really crappy, but mine was too strict. I kept on listening until she suddenly changed the subject.

" So what are you going to do about those? "she pointed to my neck and shoulder area.

" I don't know. I let him do it Linds. I should have stopped him, but I love him too much. It's like he has me under a spell. Anything he says I gladly do. I'm so stupid. "

" Ah, don't beat yourself up. It's just young love. "

I woke up Sunday morning feeling sore from cycling in the evening with Brett yesterday . I heard the front door opened and I knew it was mom because I'd locked it last night." I'm home! "she shouted. I jumped out of bed and bolted downstairs. I leaped onto her and hugged her tightly." Oh... O.. Okay okay someone missed me alright. "she choked out while chuckling.

" I missed you. So how's auntie Carla doing. "I got off her and started stretching my sore limbs.

" She's fine now. I see you're rocking straight hair now. "she said clearly amused.

" Yea I guess I am. "I said still stretching.

" Why are you stretching like crazy? "mom asked while putting some bags on the kitchen counter.

I ceased from my current activity and went in the kitchen too." I went cycling yesterday. "

"With who?"

I Sigh, "By myself mom." I had to lie If I wanted my mother to not ruin my Brett romance.

She looked at me with a strange look that say something is up. "I see you got bitten by cupid too."

I laughed and it was soon curtailed once I got what she meant. My heart started pounding so hard and loud that I could hear it in my head. "Wha... What are you talking about mom?" I managed to asked. I didn't want to seem worried at the moment.

"You two timing lying daughter of mine! How could you? ! Such a disgrace! How could you?! " she bluntly shouted while walking towards me hastily.

I leaped and ran out of the kitchen screaming." Mom!  Mom it's not what you think?! Mom!"I cried loudly hoping Mrs Murphy would hear. I had never seen my mother this upset before. She wanted to kill me.

"Serena how could you?! I raised you better than that! The one time I went away for the weekend you turn a slut! You're only fifteen for christ sake! " she was walking furiously towards me.

I ran to the front door, opened it and saw Mrs Murphy watering her garden." She's gonna kill me! "I yelled at Mrs Murphy. Suddenly my mom grabbed my arm and yanked me inside the house. I heard foot steps loudly bolting. I turned to face my mother and received a slap across the face.

Our front door swung open and Mrs Murphy appeared." Karen don't kill the child! "She yelled.

" Stay out of it Elena! She could be pregnant for all I care! "mom shouted.

I managed to free her grip and ran into Mrs Murphy. I clanged to her for safety at the moment." I didn't do anything! Please believe me! "I cried. She held me in her arms and kissed my forehead.

" Karen she's innocent okay. "Mrs Murphy said," so calm down already. "

Mom sighed loudly and sent me a death glare. She walked into the kitchen. She took a bottle of water from the refrigerator and gulped it down fast." Then explain the love marks on her neck and shoulder area Elena! "she shouted.

Mrs Murphy looked at me with widened eyes that seemed disappointed." Oh Serena. "she said softly.

I looked into her eyes," I swear it was only kissing. I didn't have sex with him. I'm being honest. "tears fell from my eyes.

" I believe you honey. "Mrs Murphy said sweetly.

" Get her out of here! Now! I can't deal with this kind of stress right now. She's a liar and a disgrace. " my mom shouted while pointing at the front door.

" Mom? "I protested.

" I said get out! Now Serena! And Elena you too. "

I tried to hold back the tears as I went outside with Mrs Murphy. I can't believe my mother had been so cold hearted as to not believe me.

A few minutes later I was crying mercilessly and trembling on Mrs Murphy's verandah. I hugged on tightly to my t shirt.

"Calm down already sweetheart. You're going to get a headache if you don't stop crying. "she said handing me a cup of water.

I took the cup with a trembling hand and nervously gulped down the water." I only kissed him that night I swear. I didn't have sex with him. I love him, but I didn't I swear. "

She smiled and took my hair into her hands then wrapped it into a messy bun." I believe you. You know know you remind me of myself when I was young. "
I smiled nervously." Karen loves you dear, I'm sure she'll understand later. "

" B.. B.. But she called me a slut, a two timing liar and slapped me in the face. "

" I'm sure she didn't mean it. She's just shocked and angry. " she held my face in her hand," let's get you fixed up and if you want to call him over its fine by me sweetie. "
I sighed and nodded.
