I guess getting my arms and legs back to normal will be easier then smiling.

That didn't matter at the moment to me though. What did was the smile that Jared gave me that seemed to set the room ablaze.

"So What kind of animal would you like?" Right Scarlet stay on topic, focus." A dog? Maybe a cat person?" I shook my head I was more into the wilder animals, unique as a pet I guess. "A Bird?" Once again I shook my head. A bird would probably be so annoying plus there are plenty of them outside.

Outside....My thoughts wandered once again but away from Jared this time. I turned my head slightly to get a glimpse of the tree tops from the window in the office.  The colors were beautiful. I wondered how the leaves would feel, the bark, the dirt.  I wish I could remember the feel of it all, the smells.

There was one thing I would love more then any of that though. A run, not just a normal jog. A real run, in my wolves fur, to roll in the dirt. But after what happened the last time I went for a run I don't know if I could.

Images of blood, covered the once colorful leaves, staining them red. The bodies lying all around me. Pieces of fur and flesh scattered about. RED, everything was red. The green's, yellows, even brown; all turned red.

I could hear it. The ones coming. Running through the forest, breaking sticks hear and there. They had no reason to be silent now. They finished their attack. Nothing would stop them now. But I still tried. I turned, I ran.

"Scarlet." I turned around from the trees to look at the face of Jared. He swept me out of my thoughts once again. He was knelt on the floor in front of me looking upon me in concern.

"Are you okay? Do you need some rest?" He asked me gently. I'm sure he was all ready to take me back to his room so I could rest if I said so. But I didn't need any so I shook my head.

"So you're alright?" He asked me a little skeptical probably because I was zoned out for so long. I nodded and tried once again to smile to calm his worry some. My attempt at smiling failed but he did seem to relax.

He gave me his goofy little half smile before going on with our topic again. "So what animal did you want?" I thought for a moment about all the animals I've always dreamed of having. But one always stood out from the others.

I pointed to the paper on his desk behind him which he grabbed and handed to me as soon as he realized what I was gesturing to. I wrote down my answer rather sloppily and handed it to him.

He stared at it for a minute. I don't know if it was because he was trying to read it or if it was just wondering why I would pick that.

He looked up from the paper at me before asking. "You sure you want this? Aren't they supposed to be kind of mean." I just nodded my head because I knew they weren't as mean as people put them off to be. They can be tamed, and quite good pets. Just like any cat.

He thought over it for a second before he sighed as if in defeat. "Okay fine, I'll get you a raccoon."

I tried a little harder this time at smiling. I don't know how well I did, I felt like I did horrible. But I guess I did rather well when Jared grabbed me up quickly in a tight embrace.

It wasn't to tight, it was safe. And my skin light up again, maybe I should tell Jared about it.
