Lucy POV:
I almost jump out of my seat when the dismissal bell finally rings.

I quickly pack my things and head towards the school gate.

"I hope Natsu will be there! I really like it when we walk together."

Once I get outside a smile forms on my face.

I notice Natsu waiting by some bushes near the gate.

He soon spots me and gives me a wave.

I skip towards him.

"Thanks for waiting for me." I say.

"Yep! You ready?" He responses.

"Mm-hm!" I happily say as we start walking home.

Our conversation on the way home starts out with rants about class assignments, and then turns into talking about his friends.

"You know I actually have some classes with them. It's really cool! Also, I just want to say I'm really happy that I got to meet your friends." I exclaim.

"You mean our friends." Natsu says.

I stare at him, shocked.

"They really like you, Luce. Seriously Levy is already planning on going on a library adventure with you." Natsu laughs.

"Honestly, though I'm really happy that you talked to them. Really happy." He admits with a smile.

His words cause me to blush.

Natsu POV:
A few seconds pass before Lucy looks at me and says, "Well, you taught me to be brave, so I spoke to them!"

She flashes me a big smile.

Her bright, contagious smile causes my cheeks to heat up.

"I've been alone for a while, so it's nice to have friends." She says.

"She's been alone? But, wait–"

"Luce, what about your dad?" I ask.

She stops walking.

"Luce?" I question.

Realizing that she suddenly stopped, she starts walking again and says, "Oh.. my dad.. yeah we don't really talk that much."

"Why not?" I continue.

"Well, um my dad and I have some.. uh differences, so we just leave each other alone." She explains.

"I can tell she's hiding something. Why won't she just tell me the truth?"

I forget about that thought and say, "Oh okay."

We continue walking until I remember something.

"Hey, you want to come over to my house so we can finish our project?" I suggest.

"Yeah, sure!" She answers.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Once we get to my house we head inside.
"I'm home! Lucy's here too!" I shout.
"Hi guys! I'm working in the kitchen right now if you need me!" My mom replies.
"Alright, we're gonna go work on our project." I say.
"Okay! Have fun!" She answers.
Then Lucy and I walked to my room and continued the project.
~~~ FIVE HOURS LATER~~~

As I lean my back against my bed, I proudly stare at our completed project.

Lucy comes up next to me and leans against the bed as well.

"It looks really good." She compliments.

"We did good. It took longer than expected, but I'm glad it's done." I say

1 glance at the digital clock on my desk. The flashing red numbers illustrate that's it's almost ten.

I feel a soft nudge on my shoulder.

When I look to investigate, my cheeks immediately heat up.

The cause of the bump was Lucy's head resting on my shoulder as she peacefully sleeps.

I stare at her for a few seconds.

"She looks so calm and peaceful... and so cute."

Without even thinking, I give her a kiss on the forehead.

After realizing my actions, I blush even harder.

After about fifteen minutes, Lucy's eyes flutter open.

"Hey Luce." I say with a smile.

She shoots up from her previous spot and says, "Oh, um I'm sorry I didn't mean to fall asleep on you."

"It's alright, you're cute when you sleep." I accidentally admit.

She blushes, which of course cause me to blush.

"Oh, ummmm anyway it's almost ten, do you want me to walk you home?" I politely ask.

"Sure!" She says.

We walk out of my room and head out the front door.

Once we get to Lucy's house, she gives me a hug.

"Thank you for giving me friends." She quietly says.

Still in shock from the hug, I barely manage to say, "You're welcome."

She gives me a smile, and I return that smile.

Lucy opens her door and goes inside.

I start walking home with a smile still on my face.

"She's so beautiful."
