"Movie night tonight?" Kenny asked me as I walked to my car.

I looked up at him. When did he get so tall? "You won't call and cancel like last time will you?"

We were supposed to have movie night a couple of weeks ago, but he called and told me that Kelly wanted to do something and he wasn't going to be able to make it. Needless to say I was upset. It's not that I don't like Kelly, she's really nice. It's more Kenny not knowing how to manage his bestfriend and girlfriend time that bothers me.

"I won't cancel this time." He promised.

"So if Kelly calls, what are you going to do?"

"Uh...I have other plans?"

"Good job." I said, patting him on the head like a little boy, "I'll see you tonight."

I got to my car and found a note on my windshield. What the hell? I picked it up and unfolded it.

Tomorrow, you and me, at the mall around 2:30ish. You can't bail, you pinky promised. See you there.

-Trevor

I looked all around the parking lot, trying to find him. I didn't see his car anywhere, so I guess he already left. I didn't want to go to the mall with him tomorrow. I don't have anything against him, it's just weird that after all this time, he suddenly starts talking to me. There's only two reason I can think of for that: 1. He's going to try and humiliate me, or 2. He's discovered an undying love for me and is planning on telling me tomorrow. I hope it's neither.

I drove home and opened the door to find my brother walking around in only his shorts. What is it with boys and not wearing shirts?

"Must you walk around our house half naked?" I asked.

"Yes." He answered simply.

I threw my stuff down by the door and went to sit down beside him on the couch. He better not be planning on spending the whole night down here. I don't want to have movie night with him here.

"Jake, are you going out tonight?" I asked him.

"Maybe. Why?"

"Kenny's coming over later."

He smiled. "So you want alone time with Kenny." He wiggled his eyebrows.

I hit him. "No! I just don't want you here talking through the movies like you always do."

He flinched away from my hit and laughed. "I'll make plans with someone."

"Thanks Jake!" I hugged him.

I sat up and grabbed the remote from the table.

"What's this?" Jake asked, taking the note from Trevor out of my pocket. He read it and then looked at me. "Who's Trevor, and why is he leaving you notes?"

"Trevor Casey? Remember him?"

He thought for a moment. "Is he the kid that streaked through the halls his freshmen year?"

I laughed. "Yes. That's him."

"Why is he giving you notes telling you to meet him?" He asked. He was going into over protective brother mode.

"I don't know. I'll find out tomorrow I guess."

"You're going?!"

"Well duh. I pinky promised I wouldn't bail on him. Those are sacred."

He rolled his eyes. "What are you? 5? You don't have to go. I mean, you don't really know him all that well. What if he tries something?"

I thought about that. I doubt that he would try anything, but you never know. Thinking about the two reasons I had thought about earlier, if he was going to tell me he's suddenly fallen for me, he might try something. I pushed that thought away. While Trevor is very attractive, he's not for me.
