what if ashton was a total sweetheart and liked to buy things for michael because he was really wealthy but michael was getting kinda pissed because ashton would always pay and they were in the mall eating when michael was giving him the silent treatment 'where do you wanna go next?' and ashton got no answer so he frowned, tapping michael's arm and when he didn't answer then he seriously got nervous 'w-what'd i do?' and it's ten minutes of ashton pleading and whining and poking until michael sighs and looks up at him 'stop buying things for me.' and ashton's face falls 'but—' 'no. no buts ash, i have a job and i have a good amount of money, i can pay for things myself.' and ashton sighed 'yeah, you're right..i just..thought that it was more of chivalry than just because but..' and michael kisses his cheek as they walk out of the food court 'you're sweet..too sweet, just let me pay alright?' and of course for the rest of the trip if michael looked at a price tag and pouted that's the thing that ashton scooped up, but michael didn't need to know that until ashton was grinning and blushing at his shocked reaction at home.
