The lightning struck. That was all. Nothing else happened.

But Main was determined to believe that this was the sign he'd been looking for! What would red lightning mean?

"I just need to shed more blood!" he decided. "Then everyone will love me unconditionally and help me take over the world! It's foolproof!"

Main looked down at his severed pinky; a stark reminder of the last time he had attempted hand-to-hand combat. The red lightning obviously meant bloodshed... but fighting was so hard and energy consuming! I know, he decided. I'll spill blood over the social medias! The Book of Faces, and Cult of Twits will spread my name though the inter-webs. I will be immortal!

He staggered along the street, looking for the internet realm. On the way, he was struck down by a young girl with blonde hair. She smashed him over the head with a lute.

"Who are you?" he asked groggily, as she rifled through his pockets.

"I'm Buttercup," she said. "A struggling Bard college graduate. I'm only robbing you as nothing interesting has happened for a while. Also I'm broke."

"Oh," Main said. "Do you feel like being a side-kick? You could sing my praises through the land for me."

She bludgeoned him with her lute again, and the world went dark.
