“How did u know I wasn’t asleep?” I asked turning my desk light back on and sitting up to face her. Might as well get on with asking her about the kiss.
“I’m a spy.”
“The guy’s didn’t notice.” I stated
“I'm also a girl.”
“Right,” I laughed, “is that part of the reason you went all out with Phoenix?”
“Oh my god! You do like him!” she laughed, “I wouldn’t have done it if I’d known!”
“I don’t like him, im just… saying.” I tried defending my way out of it but she wasn’t have any of it.
“Seriously, I would have just given him a peck on the cheek if I’d have known. I wish you’d have said something, I was just having what I thought was some fun. I didn’t know It’d hurt you! I'm sorry.”
“So it didn’t mean anything?” I asked
“No. Honestly it didn’t.”
“Well, thanks for clearing it up.”
“So is that the reason your hiding in here?”
“Partly.” I replied.

The next morning I read through the mission file before heading off to class. What was weird about it was that I was expecting the ‘Operatives’ attire’ to be some sort of black jumpsuit like you’d expect in a spy movie. But no, just like the file said, the attire arrived parcelled up just outside of my dorm this morning. Upon opening this parcel to see the contents, well, lets just say this was the least of what I expected.
I tried it on and went to the bathrooms full-length mirror. Instead of seeing a pale girl with a striking black jumpsuit to match her dark inverted bob to give a sophisticated spy look, I saw a pale girl in the mirror whose rosy lips stood out much more than usual by the complimenting full length red dress.
How they knew my size, and even more got it fitted to cling to every part of my body, I don’t know. And how they did all that in such short amount of time, amazes me the most. I glanced at the girl in the mirror once again to see her face glow as she took in the elegant holterneck, the clinging chiffon overlay and most of all as she turned around, the backless feature of the dress that still managed to say ‘sophisticated spy’. All of this certainly made me question what the mission was going to be about.
Later during the day I went to my classes as usual, but managed to avoid or at least ignore both Luke and Phoenix. I had been managing to do this right up until I was about to go to my dorm to get ready for the mission when Luke managed to catch me up.
“Maya, Stop!” Luke said seizing me around the shoulders and spinning me to face him. “Come on, tell me what’s wrong. Yesterday… and now this?”
“Look Luke, I’m sorry. I just-I didn’t mean to kiss you. Actually I-”
Luke laughed, “Of course you didn’t, it was a dare. What do you take me for?”
“Well I didn’t want to lead you on or anything…” I whispered slightly embarrassed to be having this conversation.
Luke laughed again
“What?” I demanded to know what was so funny to him
“You weren’t ‘leading me on’, it was just a bit of fun Maya. It was just a laugh, a dare, fun.” He laughed once and again and then sobered up, “weren’t you having fun Maya?” he teased, stroking my now flustered from embarrassment, cheeks.
I glanced away feeling awkward that I thought too much into the kiss. After all, Luke is the ‘fun’ one of the gang I guess. Just as I glanced away I noticed Phoenix looking in our direction in the corner of the hall but I couldn’t read into his expression before he headed up to the boy’s dorm stairs. Sighing, i said bye to Luke to head up to my room. If I was ashamed before its nothing like I was feeling now, I mean what will he have seen? Me blushing and laughing whilst Luke stroked my cheek? Ughh! Well, I guess if he’s not interested in me he’s not going to care anyway. He did seem pretty interested in Grace back at the pool, maybe it was only her who thought of it as fun? Anyway, who cares, right?
I ignored my thoughts and as soon as I was done I round the back of the girls dorms and to the fire escape where the girls dorms met the boys, that’s when I noticed him.
His angular jaw dropped and his eyes widened as he took me in. He was dressed in a black tuxedo with a red tie and handkerchief that matched mine and for once he had actually done something to his hair. Instead of it being spiky and messy, not that that made him any less attractive, if anything it made him more since he was able to get away with anything, but now it was combed back and he had a fringe covering his forehead that sloped to one side giving him a more charming look. A look that made my heart, for lack of words, ‘flutter’. Yeah like in a cheesy romance novel, but it definitely had a ride on loop-the-loop rollercoaster.
“Well… you clean up well.” Phoenix spoke when he had recovered and was able regain the control to close his mouth. I chose to ignore him my rolling my eyes and opening the door to the fire escape. As soon as I stepped out I felt the chill in the air making me shiver, until warm fabric touched my shoulders. I looked around to see Phoenix placing his tux jacket around my shoulders, “Your going to have to speak to me sometime, It did say were partners in this mission in the file, which I’m pretty sure you’ve read since your wearing the correct attire.”
Again I rolled my eyes but felt he had a point, “I’d say you scrubbed up well too but we both know you didn’t choose what your wearing.”
“Oh do we now? For your information, I’m the one that picked out that dress for you, and this tux.”
“Really?” I said genuinely surprised, “why, how did you know my size??”
“Don’t sound too shocked,” he laughed, “When were going to an event like this, you’ll find that couples have to match.” He grinned.
“An event like this? Couples? As in you and i? What kind of mission is this?”

Well ive been posting a lot of chapters of Forbidden Affection so i figured it was time to relaunch Undiscovered Secrets again, so ill be constantly writing this until i get it finished. (Ive written some chapters of Forbidden Affection so that will still be constantly updated =] )
