Chapter 2

Alexa looking at Jimmy's hands.

We entered the Freak Show. We paid for our tickets. We sat front row. There were only two other people in the crowd. A young handsome man and his mother.

Jenny and I sat front row.

"Jenny I'll be right back , I'm a go buy some popcorn." I smiled

"Ok , hurry up."

I nodded and headed outside.

As I walked I bumped into someone and fell to the ground.

"Ouch"I groaned.

"Im sorry." Said the voice of a man.

I looked up to see the boy from the diner. What was he doing here?

"My fault." I said as I got up and dusted the dirt off my butt.

"You're that girl from the diner?" Said the handsome young man infant of me.

"Yea." I smiled.

"Whats ya name?" I asked.

"Jimmy... Jimmy Darling." He winked.

"Im Alexa." I said .

I looked down at his hands and saw that his fingers were conjoined, except his thumb.

He quickly hid his hands behind him.

"Sorry I didn't mean to stare." I looked up to his deep brown eyes.

"Its fine." He looked down.

"You don't need to hide them.Im not scared of you." He looked up at me and smiled.

"Really?" His eyes were glossy.

"Yea, why would I?" I smiled.

"Do you mind if I see them?" I carefully asked.

Jimmy hesitated at first but he handed me his hand.

I gently grabbed his hands.And was fascinated by them.

"Wow.. they're so cool." I whispered.

Jimmy chuckled. " Cool? I don't think so. Im a freak, there's nothing cool about me."

I looked up at Jimmy. "You're not a freak. Don't call yourself that." I let go of his hand.

"Well you're a first"

I chuckled. "Anyway, do you know where I could buy snacks?"

"Yea , just follow me"

After I bought the popcorn and orange pop. I said thank you and quickly went back to my seat .

"What took you so long?" Jenna asked.

"I ran into 'The Amazing Jimmy Darling' ." I smirked.

Jenny's face went pale. "Did you just say Jimmy Darling?"

"Yea why?"

"Is he a freak?"

"He's a part of the show. He's 'Lobster Boy'." I said.

"Shit. How can I be so stupid?"Jenny said.

"What?"

"That was the guy I was flirting with yesterday. No wonder he had mittens on! Ugh! Thats disgusting."

Jenny got off her seat and walked up the stage and went behind the stage.

"You asshole!" She screamed as she was about to slap Jimmy, I grabbed her hand.

"Calm down Jenny." I whispered.

"You're a disgusting freak! I can't believe I flirted with you." Tears left Jenny's face.

"You don't have to be so rude!" Jimmy shouted.

"Fuck you!" Jenny ran out of the tent.

I looked back and saw that everyone of the 'freaks' were staring at me.

"Im sorry about her." I said .

"It wasn't your fault." Jimmy looked to the ground.

"She's right anyways we are disgusting freaks..." Jimmy drifted off.

"You guys aren't freaks. You're all people , don't call yourselves that." I said as I looked at everyone.

"We are very thankful for your kind words." Said a tall women.

"No problem. I should go and handle her." I said .

"Wait! Who are you?" Said a lady with a thick German accent.
She walked up to me studying my face.
"Alex" I swallowed.

"Well Alexa I see you have different eye colors... do you have any talents?"

"Well I can sing." I said.

"Would you like to work here?" The lady said.

"I would but I won't be in Florida for long." I looked at the ground.

"Where are you going?" The lady said.

"I don't know yet."

"Well seems like you just don't want to be seen around a bunch of freaks" The lady hissed.

"Its not that. I've been traveling for the past two months. And I just go wherever I feel like."

"Oh well can't you work here until you leave?Im Elsa by the way."

"I'll think about it . I must go now." I smiled and walked away.

I fell asleep that night think about wether I should except the job Elsa gave me. And I couldn't get Jimmy out of my head, he was gorgeous.
