School was normal I guess, people kept on doing their daily do's and dont's. Oh how I wanted to end the day already. The only thing that kept me going was Teri and well, maybe Austin. I wanted to talk to him—ask him how his day went or was he feeling okay. But, who am I to do that?
I was on the cafeteria flipping through the pages of my Chemistry book when someone said" Alli?" a voice said. I shook my head and realized it was only Teri looking at me as if I was a stranger to her. "What? Why are you looking at me like that?" I asked looking pretty annoyed about the way she looked at me. She didn't sit with me the other day. She said she was busy. Nor has she replied to Any of my messages.
"Whats up Teri?" I asked my voice serious. I looked at her eyes and know that she's hiding something. "Nothing. I'm just not in the mood." She blankly said looking at her phone. Shes been acting weird lately and I intend to know why. "If you have something to tell me you can say it to me anytime." I said as I nice as I could but, her attitude is pissing me off.
"I need to go Alli, I have a project to do with my club mates." She said standing up, ignoring me as she did. I quickly stood up and followed her. "You have been acting so strange the past few days Teri, and I want to know why." I asked catching up to her but she was just ignoring me shaking her head as if she didn't hear anything I said. "I want to help you okay, so please just let me—" my voice was louder than before bur she cut me off and looked st me straight in the eye Angry.
"You are hanging out with them." She quietly said showing me a photo of when we were in Austin's house. I didnt even know we took that picture. I Read the caption that was hanging with the best! that made me feel worse.
"When were you planning to tell me about your new found friends? " she said her voice shaking. I wanted to scream. It wasn't as if I forgot about her. "That was unexpected!" I said but, I know that didnt work. "Oh yeah well, maybe you should go hang with them now." She said clicking her heels and walking away.
I ran to catch up with her, but she just kept ignoring my panting noises and me calling out her name. A few people started to stare at us, but she just kept on walking. "Teri! Im sorry, it's not that I'm forgetting you or anything, I just wanted to make new friends, Please stop! I'm tired." I said while catching my breath. How long do we have to do this? I was tired!
"Great! then maybe you could go with your new friends and maybe they would buy you something for you to drink right? I mean why do you need me anyway!" yelled Teri. I never saw her looking like this before. Looking so annoyed and stressed all at the same damn time. It made me feel so guilty and angry.
I stopped at my tracks. I've decided to give her a bit of space, we both need to keep our heads clear and relaxed for the next time we meet. I felt so empty not being with my best friend. We always do everything together but now, it's as if all of those memories just got flushed down the toilet.
I walked gloomily to my class which was Science. It mocked me to see all my classmates laughing, joking around and enjoying their time with their friends, while I sit down alone in my favourite seat thinking about my broken friendship with Teri.
I scanned the room to see if Teri was there but she wasn't. Maybe she's too mad at me that she decided to skip Science just to get away from me. That made me even more sad. I grabbed my thick Science book from my bag and did some reading when something caught my eye. More like a "someone".
It was Austin and Ryan joking around as always. They were laughing and kept on throwing crumpled paper at each other. Austin stopped when he saw me looking at him, I then looked away and pretended taht I was busy reading my book. I used my peripheral vision to glance at him if he was laughing at me but, instead he smiled and continued his happiness with his bestfriend.
