Existence

Existence. A word given not much attention. They say someone existed for a reason, that everyone has a role to portray in this world.

Existence is some what associated with the word, presence. It’s like someone can make you feel as if you didn’t exist just because your presence is not felt.

Presence differs for everybody. For example, like me, my presence is not easily sensed. Maybe because I am naturally passive and that I am quiet. I have my own world and that my presence is not really that much worth attention.

But I hate how most of the time, people tend to ‘accidentally’ ignore me just because they don’t see me. Am I some sort of a ghost to you? That you won’t see me if I don’t walk in front of you?

I also hate that they kept on asking where I am when the truth is I’m just there at the back of the group. That they sometimes leave me there just because they forgot to invite me.

And I hate their belief that because I am a quiet person, I can or I want to be alone every time. Maybe I am alone or maybe I want to be alone at most times but I also want to be surrounded by friends. They say that because it’s me, I can survive being alone. That’s not really true.
