On the way to Luke's apartment, the two argued relentlessly and acted as if Katianna wasn't literally between them, trying to fall asleep.
"I was the one that gave birth to her! I deserve some more respect and credit," Miranda began, but was soon interrupted.
"If it wasn't for my semen she wouldn't even be here," the blonde retorted. "And I thought you said you didn't even want a damn baby in the first place."
"Welcome home Kat!" Miranda ignored him, carrying the baby in. Kat's beautiful blue eyes looked around lazily until she fell asleep seconds later.

It was an hour later when Liz, Luke's mother facetimed and they bantered about the weather, their days and so on until the mother changed the topic.
"You're gonna be a good father. I can imagine her crying four years later, holding onto you because she doesn't want to get into kindergarten, and-and I can imagine you cry on her graduation day, and I can imagine both of you crying on her wedding day. There's a great adventure awaiting you, Luke. Make the best of it before she's gone forever."
"But I'll be inviting her for Thanksgiving and Christmas" Luke muttered blatantly.
"You get what I mean. I bet when she grows up she'll be one of those teens who'll want to go on adventures on weeknights and she'll want to take the long way home, spending as much time with her best friends as possible."
"Thanks for the reassurance."
"Now, where's Miranda?" Liz asked, making Luke tense up and think about how much he hated the oh-so-annoying Miranda Phipps.
"Why do you need her? It's not like she's important or anything," Luke grumped, raising his eyebrows in unamusement.
"Okay, I was just asking," Liz grew defensive. "Well, it's about dinnertime right now and your dad and I are heading out tonight. I'll talk to you later, okay?"
"Okay. Bye mum," Luke beamed.
"Good luck with life," Liz hung up first and Luke closed his laptop.
